Researching it through the society tech tree, the Grand Fleet Edict and the Domination and Supremacy traditions.
Build and upgrade spaceports. That seems to be the primary means iv found to increase it. Never played the pc version.
Yep, besides some researches each spaceport increases your capacity. Upgrading a spaceport to a higher tier also increases it.
You can actually see the explanation for this when pressing up and navigation on the top ressource bar to the relevant Icon. It will show you exactly how things are getting calculated
