Well now that its been a few hours since the announcement i think its time to revive the age old debates on naval combat. ill compile what evidence i can find from the screenshots here

-There are no docks at all the entirety of england. All holdings inland with no docks. maybe you have to build docks and the screenshot was early enough in the game that England didnt have a fleet
-sailable rivers in france and germany basically the same rivers from the old gods in CK2 we know that the vikings will be in at launch
- doesn't appear to be the old "raise ship levies" button in the holding menu
- none of the perks in the new martial perk tree seem to have anything to do with naval combat which doesn't bode well for naval combat being in the game

granted these screenshots are from an early build so make of this what you will

If naval combat is added, it would probably be with merchant republics. Best way to blunt any complaints about 're-releasing content' via DLC is to include something big and new with it.

And the famous navies of Byzantium, Chola Empire, Abbasid Caliphate and others have been extinguished yet again. :(

Considering how good (Read: absolutely awful) naval combat is in Paradox titles... do we really want to see navy mechanics in CK3? Besides transportation I'd rather see no navy mechanics at all.
