Why does the transportships have so high defence values ? both naval and air is absurd high in my opinion, purpose built TP has even higher than the bismarck BB-8 and that even with large margin

why ?

TP units aren't just one ship - it is usually a group of perhaps 10 - 15 vessels, so in order to eliminate the unit totally, you have to chase down and sink all of them - much harder than sinking one Battleship, even.

Tim

Perhaps , but if u then sink half /strenght 50% then around half of the troops abourd shuild have lost 50% strenght +/- when disembark, or else the thinking of that kind will do more harm than good when it come to realistic

Probably an EXE thing, so not something we can/will change I'm afraid.

Yeah one of the things we noticed during beta testing was the tendency for the AI to send out TPs without any escort on suicide missions. Needless to say they were sunk at a rapid rate (a Vanilla issue as well I know). The CORE team have devised some workarounds for this behaviour by making TPs harder to kill and also by allowing new TPs to be constructed from convoy ships. It's the best solution since we can't do anything about the fleet composition AI. Hopefully HOI3 will be more improved in that aspect. :p

I have after a little time come up with that it still almost sux:/

emplement destroyer from flotilla to single unit and converting TP to many , but the mening of sinking a TP cant be reproduced in game so I still think this solution is worse, TP are slow, and vournable , not to say if enemy know about it, a highly valid target.

If it was possible to emulate loss vs sunken ships ok , but now its all or nothing, than I think the purpose is of the thing is missed out.

First the attack values must be if all ships where at bearing with all weapons, meaning that all ships is visible and can be shot at , therfore not harder to kill for a BC or something ( witch is superior in armour firepower speed and survielance )

well I can go on , but I feel it is a bad workaround of a problem witch inflict more bad than good (even if its somewhat to make up for bad AI)
