Tried a couple of hours of the game at a friends place today - I'm pretty hooked already. It is a nice change from the intrigues of the european crusades for sure and it has a lot of the intrigue that I found lacking in Shogun 2.

Expansions? Oh yes please - I'd love to see this title/series continue on growing and become as popular as Vicky or Europa.

It's a really nice game , i got to over a 100 hours of play , however i still think it needs some polishing and updates to reach its full potential IMHO

The thing in this game that i think needs improvement , is that it's almost impossible (at least for me so far , maybe it is , but i didn't manage ) to recreate many events of Japanese history because the military aspect of this game considers numbers above all and there is little army management and " men of arms" management (generals)

For instance , if you want to recreate events where a small force defeated a much larger force ( Battle of Kawagoe , Battle of Okehazama , Battle of Mimigawa , battle of Okitanawate , Battle of Kizaki , Battle of Itsukushima/Miyajima , failed Iga invasions etc etc ) , it's simply not possible in this game for me , last time i had one guy with "15 martial" , yet if he has less men , he will invariably lose sadly :/

I think it's a clear weakness of this game or perhaps there is something i didn't discover yet in the game , but i wish the military aspect was more detailed , with us getting to handpick our generals ( with some specific military traits) and arrange logistics ( troops should cost a lot more in enemy territory outside especially during harvest season and it shouldn't be free of charge to lay a long siege , you need provisions/supply lines etc )

Anyway , i still think it's a very nice game , but i wish we had a larger modder community or some updates , i tried the excellent mod MIH lately , it's great , but i still cant' manage to play as Matsudaira Motoyasu and survive the Imagawa , can't get to recreate the Oda-Tokugawa alliance (why no alliance in diplomacy ? alliances did exist back then , one example is the tripartite alliance between Hojo/Takeda/Imagawa in the 1550's ) and never can survive a superior force in term of numbers unless it's a slight difference (i'm aware straits or river give a small boost though but somehow there should be a way to make terrain and general's skills influence a lot more the outcome the battles perhaps ? and also the retinue should have a rating of their experience , a battle hardened retinue which fought in countless battles should be a lot more difficult to rout for instance ? )

How i wish some people would work on this game to make it even better ! I think most people really absorbed by this period would be really grateful cause this game is the closest we have to a credible depiction of Sengoku jidai's period and to me it would be really awesome if the military aspect had more depth and credibility

Definitely could use an expansion/DLC something.

Unfortunately, Paradox seems to be focusing on their efforts elsewhere.
