This is really frustrating. I recently moved back West and have a new computer setup. Here I am connecting to the internet through a shared internet connection on another computer. HOI2 mp doesn't work anymore.

I turned off all of the firewalls and then I tried to follow the router setup guide, except I can't forward the ports to my ip. My ip is 192.168.0.xxx but I can only forward ports to ips that look like 192.168.1.xxx The 1 is locked into the setting on the router and I can only change the last 3 numbers of the ip. I'm not sure if port forwarding is even the problem. I've never had to worry about that stuff before. But I've got someone else playing SU for me in my game right now because I can't connect and I don't like it.

Thats not your IP. Thats a different IP which I know nothing about, but if you want to know your IP go to www.showmyip.com. That'll give your IP, and sometimes it changes.

But this shouldn't be an issue with connecting to games (i had a similar problem), so I'm not sure what wrong with not being able to connect....maybe the host has the wrong version....?

I meant my local ip
You're right about that. I don't know why you can't control the IP address. I suggest that you look in the forum stickies for router advice and a link to the router set-up library.

Another option is to put your PC in the DMZ for your router and use a software firewall like Zone Alarm.
