Hi,

I just bought EU...and as a good computer user, I download the newest patch V.1.10 to update the game :) However, after I install the patch, I got 'ERROR No CD' everytime I try to run the game. Before installing the patch the game runs fine. Can anybody help?

One more question, can we name the army or navy instead of using the default name?

Thanks.

First you need to have "ORIGINAL GAME" to update game what you said often accurs when you have piratic version, if you have original game then it might be your operating system, windows Xp don't like some older games(though i have no problems with them).
And for army names i think that you can't give names to armys or navys though i haven't tried to do.
And yes.... welcome to EU forum

Is the CD in your computer when you're trying to run the game? And which version of EU do you have, anyway?

Not within the game, although you can open your saved game and edit all of the army and navy names there.

I think I remember in one of the files (don't know which one, you should check) there are the "default" typical names for the armies (like red/blue/white squadron for ENG fleets, and so on). I guess editing that file you can give whatever name you want to your armies (but always in a random way).

Yup...we can help. :)

We'll need some details first, though. See the "Read First" sticky (link in my sig) for what we'd like - in particular we need to know which publisher version of the game you bought (SF, UBI, Vision, etc.) first, and the details of your system.

Details

Well, I bought the game cheaply through the internet. It comes with the CD in jewel case and the manual only. On them there are logo of Blackstar, HD interactive, and paradox entertainment. The version of the game is 1.07b. I tried updating with NA patch, but it just did not recognize that the game is installed. So I used UK patch.

My system is

-Windows XP

-AMD Athlon 1800

-512 MB RAM

-128MB Ti4200 video card

-27 GB HDD

Thanks guys for helping me out :)

Thanks.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, Blackstar is a German publisher so the download you're looking for should be this one. I don't recall if that patch has the German translation files or not, but if you need an English text version then you can follow that up with this download that will replace the text database with the English version afterwards.

Let me know if that works correctly for you. If not, I'll dig into it a little deeper and figure out where the problem is.

Great! Enjoy your conquests...:)
