Hello, I am trying to make a custom kingdom, following the guide found here, I know it's a bit outdated.

So, my problem is this: whenever I choose the scenario where I added this kingdom, it gives me this error (it also has several other errors but lets solve this one first):

error.jpg

If anyone has any idea what I should do and what causes this, please feel free to do so.

Which tag, did you use for this custom-kingdom ?

It looks like you use, the SOVU-tag, which doesn't exist in the game.

You can't just add tags, you need to use an existing one. For custom-kingdoms you can use

U000 to U020

Ahh, thanks a bunch, didn't know of that.
That problem is solved then, but I still get CTD when I try to start the scenario (the load finishes and everything freezes) I get this pop up:

error2.jpg

Also, where can I edit the name for the kingdom? Currently it just shows the COA but no text in the scenario menu.

EDIT: The log file states following:

Code:
######## EXCEPTION: 0xC0000005 at address: 0x005880FF: ACCESS VIOLATION read attempt to address 0x00000360

I can't do much with that error-message, just that something else in your modded game is not correctly done.

So you will have to check everything

Do all your characters have the correct location, so the right tag of the realm ?

Do you have the right title-holder ? Does he have the right tag of the realm ?

You can change the name of a tag in

config/world_names.csv

Edit this file with Notepad or Wordpad and save it correctly as a .csv

You must also not forget to edit

db/country.csv

Yes I have checked everything I can think of. I only have one character (the king) in my realm though, and he has no parents or offspring, could this bring up some problems? Considering he has no ties to anyone inheritance could cause trouble.

EDIT: How to edit that db/country.sv file? It has these weird colours and such in it.

No, that can't be the problem.

If you want, I can take a look at your modded files, upload them somewhere, so I can download them. Then I can see if I can find anything

I think I found the problem, you can download the 'fixed' files from here

At first I thought that it had to do, with the fact that the U000-tag is broken, so I changed it to U005.

Then I noticed that in the titles-files, you hadn't entered the line

liege = U000

I have added the lines now

In the character-file, you had some characters in a county that you had given to your new kingdom, I moved them to the new kingdom (U005). I don't know if you want them there, but you can either delete the characters or move them to another existing court.

The scenario now loads properly :)

The AAR must be a very interesting one ;)

As I am playing multiplayer game of EU3 I cannot test it now but thanks a lot, really really appreciated. Now I can browse through the fixes and learn of my mistakes. Thanks for all the help and info you have given.

Is it possible to add a new (non recreatable) kingdom into a save-game file, not in the beginning of a scenario and how?

Well there are several ways to do that.

Do you want to give it to the AI or is it for your own ruler ?

1. The easiest way to that is to make it creatable, by assiging one province to it in db/provinces.csv

2. Then load up your game and create the title.

3. Then after you are done playing, save the game and go to db/provinces.csv and remove the kingdom-entry from the file

4. In the save-game you will then keep thit title, but it is no longer creatable.

Both! :D
Is your advises for both cases?

Yes :)

In one of my previous games, an independent duke in the low-countries had been able to unite all the duchies there, Holland, Gelre, Brabant, Lower-Lorraine, Luxemburg and Saxony I believe.

So I thought he deservered a king-title, so I made the kingtitle of Lotharingia for him, by the way descrived above.

Make sure, though, that the province belongs to the rulers personal demesne. Else the AI won't be able to create it
