I would greatly appreciate input from experienced asset creators, especially those who use Blender.
I have very recently started to create assets for CS, and throughout the last week had a crash-course in blender modeling, UV-mapping & texturing. So far I have successfully created a test model and its corresponding baked UV diffuse map, but I've come across frustrating issues with importing into the asset editor.

My biggest problem is that the texture is not being applied properly across the model, but is instead showing up in a tiled appearance, like so...:

...when it should look like this:

Here is my CS import folder, the file names are the same and the diffuse map is correctly suffixed. Are there some export setting on the .fbx or bake diffuse map that I may have overlooked?

Also, when I import the asset into the editor, the model is oriented vertically on its front face:

I am able to correct this by rotating it a couple times on the x axis in the editor but I would like to know how to correct this is blender. Is there a specific building template I should use for my model in the editor? And before anyone asks, yes, I have already applied all 3 object transforms to the model before saving as an .fbx.

I've looked for days at tutorials and forums to find a solution but haven't found any yet. Some suggestions and input would be fantastic.

UPDATE:
I've managed to figure out my primary texturing and scaling issues. For the textures, it was a simple mistake of not deleting my original uv map in blender after applying my baked map. As for scaling, I had to position the origin at the bottom center of the building and set the .fbx export scale to 1 instead of 100.

As glad as I am to have fixed that, another problem arises. The quality of the baked diffuse map is, as you can see above, pretty horrendous. Does anyone know how I might boost the quality of it in blender, or should I use a completely different texturing method (i.e. exporting to gimp)? Thanks in advance.
