Hello, guys!:)

Just came up to January the 1st 1520 AD while playin' for the Novgorod, but didn't see any message kinda "Take over the Byzantine Mantle"... What's goin' on?
As I see the trigger for Novgorod is that:

#The Empire of Russia#
event = {
id = 3582
trigger = {
owned = {
province = 270 # Moscow
data = -1
}

owned = { province = 274 data = -1 } # Novgorod

OR = {
owned = { province = 268 data = -1 } # Vologda
owned = { province = 272 data = -1 } # Nizhgorod
owned = { province = 448 data = -1 } # Ryazan
owned = { province = 271 data = -1 } # Vladimir
owned = { province = 277 data = -1 } # Pskov
owned = { province = 278 data = -1 } # Tver
}
NOT = {
exists = RUS
}
atwar = no
}
random = no
country = NVG
name = "EVENTNAME3582"
desc = "EVENTHIST3582"
style = 2

date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1520 }
offset = 30
deathdate = { day = 30 month = december year = 1820 }

action_a ={ #Take over the Byzantine Mantle#
name = "ACTIONNAME3582A"
command = { type = vp value = 200 }
command = { type = stability value = 3 }
command = { type = population which = 274 value = 5000 }
command = { type = country which = RUS }
}

action_b ={ #Leave it on the Floor#
name = "ACTIONNAME3582B"
command = { type = vp value = -100 }
command = { type = stability value = -2 }
}
}

I have all of that provinces, and I really can't understand... Help, please!:(

Just wait till the end of 1521 (When I play with novgorod sometimes the event came in 1521), but you must set your capital to be moskow
insert below
name = "ACTIONNAME3582A"
following:
command = {type = capital which = 274 }

note: please see in province file exact province number of moskow

Ok, I'll wait for the next year. Thanx. :cool:

What about the changin' of the capital? You mean I got to insert this part of the script to get the new capital in Moscow:
command = {type = capital which = 274 }

...or what?

The province ID is 270 (as you can see in the event trigger above), but yes, that's how you do it. I'm not sure why he's suggesting that you change your capital to Moscow, though. You have just subjugated it under mighty Novgorod, and now you want to move out of Novgorod?

Well, makin' Moscow as a capital seems to me not that unlogical, but I've already reached 1523 and still nothin'! No Empire, no Mantle, no new capital - nothin'! :mad:

I suspect the entire Game in crisis somehow:
1. Reformation came 5 years later, only in 1520. German states already crushed ecxept Bavaria (Catholic till death), just as Sweden, and little has left of Denmark. No one has accepted new religion. lol
2. France and Bretagne are at war condition for over 50 years. England has many provinces on the French side, so the war between French king and vassals for the united France is simply impossible.
3. Novgorod has borders with China, Bengalia, France, England (Grampian mountains), Parma and has ports at the Red sea, Persian gulf, on the south of India (Maduray, Tiruvan), at the Nile delta.
4. Turkey is crushed with only 2 provinces left (Cyprus and Taur) and a capital.
5. European states have no any other idea than fightin' with Novgorod. Little local wars happen only in Far East region.
6. We got no any changes in political system since endin' of Civil War. 2 diplomats per year, and 6 monthe pause between wars was the longest thru all these years!

I hope you don't take this the wrong way...but I would LOVE to play a round like that :) But you're probably right, something is probably wrong it all that happens.

I hope I took this right way! Playin' at very hard level with the furious aggressiveness of the other states is pure fun! :wacko: I've done this at the first part of Europe Universalis and I like it.

Havin' no Empire means also no generals, admirals, explorers, etc... I'm still waitin' for the event. God save our Novgorod!

Have you had any events at all? Sometimes for some reason, the event files get left out entirely so nothing goes quite right.

(Also, would it kill you to hit the "g" instead of the apostrophe?)

You have to be at peace for the event to fire. Are you in a war? Any war? If so, the event will not fire.

Aye.

Sure, I've had at least 2 events: Civil War and some random event for trade system.

Yes, I think you're right. It looks like one of event' condition:

}
atwar = no
}

Just to check this up I've finished all wars on the December 1519 but still no any Empire on January 1520. Havin' 2 diplomats per year impossible to live all year without war. Usually there're 10 alliances or states fightin' to us yearly. So is there any way to solve the problem? :(

You could try just putting a hash mark (#) in front of the 'atwar = no' part.

Code:
trigger = {
owned = {
province = 270 # Moscow
data = -1
}

owned = { province = 274 data = -1 } # Novgorod

OR = {
owned = { province = 268 data = -1 } # Vologda
owned = { province = 272 data = -1 } # Nizhgorod
owned = { province = 448 data = -1 } # Ryazan
owned = { province = 271 data = -1 } # Vladimir
owned = { province = 277 data = -1 } # Pskov
owned = { province = 278 data = -1 } # Tver
}
NOT = {
exists = RUS
}
#atwar = no
}

This should cause the event to fire even if you are at war. (the hash means the game does not read the line). It may cause some odd things to happen (occupied territories by your enemies may become theirs), but its worth a try.

Aye.

Thanx a lot. I shall try it. But I wonder if this event still works after Jan the 1st 1520? Late comin' of Reformation makes me believe it's possible.:confused:

Wonderful!

An Empire is done! Just after cancelin' the war in the trigger' body I got it! :rofl:

The only sad thing is that I've missed 4 generals as it wrote in the military leaders file of Russia.

Anyway, thanx to Ayeshteni and to han ASD! I got an Empire and I have new capital in Moscow!:cool:
