I recently wanted to play prison architect again. But when I downloaded the game and launched it from steam, I get these error messages. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ah, that is usually an antivirus app getting in the way. What antivirus app do you use? You need to make sure all these apps are in its exceptions lists:

Prison Architect64.exe and dowser.exe (in the Steam PA folder)
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2025.8/paradox launcher.exe
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe

IF that doesn't help, Right click on Documents in the left column of File Explorer, just under This PC there. Go to properties, location. What does it say there?

Ok, I added paradox launcher.exe and bootstrapper v2 to the exceptions. But that still didnt work.
Here's what I see under properties, location

Also, I checked out the things in Introversion and I dont see the content load json the game is talking about.

What AV app do you have? If it is the default Windows Defender one, those .exe files need to be added in Ransomware-Controlled Folder Access-Apps Allowed Through (not the WD firewall, which is an unrelated function).

A launcher update came out last night so you'll need to add this in too:

C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2025.9/paradox launcher.exe

If that doesn't help, something else is preventing the launcher and game from accessing the Windows User Documents folder. Make a new Windows user profile on this PC and try the launcher/game under that, any better?
