I'm having some ideas for a CK AAR, maybe even a mega-campaign but my great problem is who to play. I'm searching for a coounty or duchy with a good background and/or history after 1066 and i'm not wanting to follow the cliches, somebody have a suggestion?
If it's needed i may even mod something new.

Please, remember i'm a noob, so no almost impossible challenges :p

One of the bigger german duchies like, Bavaria, Swabia, Saxony or even Brandenburg are good starting points.

A good new one is saxony espically if you wed magnus to the only daughter of the duchy of Potoui (spelling) any way sometime you will inhert all of that land giving you a big bonus from the beginning.

As is my job, I will poke around your mega-campaign. I find it most interesting when it is a country that doesn't last, or is out of the way now. I'd suggest Poitu-Bordeaux (sp?) you'll have a good chunk of land to start, plenty of vassals... plus with a small amount of expansion, you can usurp the french title.

If you have the mod, try playing with a muslim nation. But other than that, I'd go with Poitu-Bordeaux.

If you're a noob, you may want to try a Kingdom, like Scotland or Naples or Hungary, even.
Might want to avoid Hungary, in all my games, they usually get torn a new one by Poland and others... even before I get to them.
