I'm sure it "works," but is it fun to play when you hit the war and the game slows down from all the math going on in the background?

I mean, I have a reasonably nice laptop with a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo CPU/2GB of RAM and it really starts slowing down in 1941-42. I can't imagine the typical 1.6 GHz Atom/1GB RAM netbook platform providing a good experience (unless you enjoy playing WWII in real time :D).

Thats cause your running with a windows mindset
Since Linux runs an a different file system with no BS clogging up in the background my duo Atom with 1.5GB RAM ends up being about 3x faster! than my older - apparently more powerfull laptop!

AoD runs smooth as anything, and not having to wait for shit to load anymore kinda makes you spoiled :)

Sigh...

I'd wager its impossible to magically get 3x better application performance by running a program in a non-native environment. What Linux distro are you running? What's the hardware and software situation with the more powerful laptop? Are you running off a SSD in the Atom system?

I'd be happy to compare and see what the experience is like. I have a dual core Atom system here (Atom 330, 2 GB RAM). Do I have to do anything special to run AoD with Wine? My past experiences trying to run Paradox games in Wine have been pretty bad.

10.2 inch screen netbook...can I run AOD??

I am not particularly good with computers...but unfortunately I am stuck with my netbook (Medion Akoya (the same as a MS Wind 100) with a 10.2 inch screen and Atom cpu running on Windows XP) until October 2010.

Is there any chance that I can get AOD to work on my netbook?

I guess that I will wait buying AOD until I am reasonably sure that I can run it on my netbook...

It will definetely work. As up to the point if the speed provided will be sufficient to you to enjoy the game, nobody can tell you that unless you try by yourself.

So , basically there is a minimum specification that isn`t advertized on the game ?

My machine has well over the other min specs , and I payed to download it & now I find that there is a non advertised min spec of screen resolution  .

I really hope that you guys will fix that in the future .... if you have a min spec , please advertise it so people won`t waste their money on a game that wont work :S
