I'm sure it "works," but is it fun to play when you hit the war and the game slows down from all the math going on in the background?
I mean, I have a reasonably nice laptop with a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo CPU/2GB of RAM and it really starts slowing down in 1941-42. I can't imagine the typical 1.6 GHz Atom/1GB RAM netbook platform providing a good experience (unless you enjoy playing WWII in real time).
Thats cause your running with a windows mindset
Since Linux runs an a different file system with no BS clogging up in the background my duo Atom with 1.5GB RAM ends up being about 3x faster! than my older - apparently more powerfull laptop!
AoD runs smooth as anything, and not having to wait for shit to load anymore kinda makes you spoiled
