This is a new thread for new aberration versions till I am back on my cpu. Don't use this file for playing! It is for debugging purposes only.

Changes:

Bugfix:

- Seems our 1600 bug could be connected to a navy spawning in an inland capital. Nice work, Kaigon!:)

Events:

- Revolt in Transylvania event added for Hungary
- Description for the 7th Great Hansetag is now correct
- Swabian eventfile created, minor flavour events and possible nice SP event
- Milano eventfile adjusted, minor_mlo as Milano is a minor from now on
- Sicily got a CoT creation event, which dissolves the ragusan CoT.
- Persian event for Caliphate adjusted
- Sicilian eventfile expanded to the 17th century with the Constance story

Monarchs:

- Extended Laszlo VI and tweaked some hungarian monarchs
- Monarchs added for Wurtemberg and Tyrolia
- Swabian monarchs edited

Leaders:

- Conrad of Hauteville added as leader for Sicily

Setup Changes:

- Made all european nations have at least (which means none was lowered) tech level 1 in all areas
- Removed Slovak culture for Bohemia
- Upped the techs of Genoa to the level of the Hansa, which is 1/2/2/1 instead of just 1/1/1/1 (it fits trader nations), Sicily got naval 2, not trade 1 as Genoa should be stronger, trade wise
- Made sure all american nations had 0/0/0/0
- Gave the colonies in India fortress level 1 or else they would lose them immediately
- Changed Morocco, Algiers and Tunisia to orthodox tech group
- Tweaked the situation with the Central Asian/East Caspian Hordes, giving them armies, somewhat upping
their provinces, adding cores to promote internal conflicts
- Reduced the number of Timurid cores to only Samarkand... I will re-add some by events later, letting them go
either South or North (I thought about turning Delhi into Mughal, if we're using them at all), becoming either
Uzbehks or Afghanis.
- Added a fort in Goa, Hyderabad file, oman got a fort in Bahrain
- Baden, Wurtemberg and Swabia inc files adjusted
- Smolensk capital moved
- Morale: (Corrected a lot of moralevalues to make everyone start at 2 (there were some 1.7, 1.5 and 0.7)
- Moved the capital of Syria from Syria to Aleppo
- Moved the capital of Golden Horde from Samara to Uralsk (to make it easier for Ukraine to conquer its coreprovince Samara)
- Moved the capital of Bourbonnais from Berri to Limousin (Berri is a part of the front and any conquer would rather have Berri than Limousin)
- Moved the capital of Leon from Leon to Cantabria (Granada (in most AI cases) has a core on Leon but not Cantabria. Cantabria is also richer.)
- Moved the capital of Candar from Kastamonu to Angora (the Byzantines should rather have the coast and Angora is richer, as well as more central)
- Removed stateculture slovak for Bohemia
- Changed stateculture of armenia to georgian
- Changed culture of provinces Daghestan and Armenia to georgian
- georgian culture changed to caucasian

- Moved three basetax from Austria to Bohemia.
- Added A LOT of tax collectors/bailiffs all over Europe.

Desc:

- Mamelucks got a description now

AI:

- Mamelucks and Egypt got AIs now.

Revolt.txt:

- Removed Seljuk Turks as revolter (they just caused a mess, Candar, Teke and Dulkadir will be enough IMO)
- Changed Morocco, Algiers and Tunisia to revolt with orthodox tech group
- Added ai entries for MAM and EGY
- Removed some unnecesary data
- Removed Transoxiana as revolter, tweaked NOG, SIB, KZK, BAL, AFG and UZB revolters
- Removed Pommern as a Revolter and lengthened Stettin
- Reworked colors

I think Byakhaim may have had some plans for the Armenian culture, Archduke. Do we absolutely need to remove it?

Haven't heard anything about that. If he has he should tell me and then we can bring it back again easily. It isn't connected to anything in that region is rather aesthetic.

Well, I planned to add armenian culture to Byzantium in one choice that has "Revival of the kingdom of Armenia". It works with adding caucasian culture too, but I don't know is it desirable from your pov for Byza to have the culture of Georgia itself.

That's a toughie. I think we should reverse the culture change, what do you guys think?

Well, it would make Byzantium less likely to swallow Georgia, if they go for Revival of Armenia. I'm writing it up right now, so I'll post them later today.

Do that. Quite a big next update so far.:)

Concerning minor cultures: I don't have any problem keeping in minor cultures provided they contribute something to the game.

For example: basque, czech, turkish, kurdish, dutch, russian :), and caucassian/georgian are all good minor cultures. Each of them could possibly serve as the focus of a dispute between major-powers or the expansion efforts of a major power.

Bad/un-necessary minor cultures: slovak, maltese, albanian

I have nothing against albanians in general (mmmm... Eliza Dushku), and I agree that having a separate culture for the province makes sense, but I really wish we could make Albania greek in Aberration.

Concerning Armenian and Caucassian: Caucassian is a good idea. We could make Georgia's two provinces, Kerch, Kouban and Daghestan all caucassian. Armenia can remain armenian for both the reasons that Byakhiam brought up and for some miscellaneous gameplay reasons. It is a valuable copper/silver province that would be worth owning even with wrong cultures.

Cheers.

Maltese is gone, albanian, too.

I wouldn't erase slovak, actually, don't know which other culture could take her place.

New file up, please check for any serious bugs.

Setup:

- Albanian culture is gone
- Albania has slavonic as culture
- Hungary has latin technology now

Events:

- Expanded Sicilian events a bit

Revolt.txt:

- Apulia removed as a revolter, Naples cut down to stop in 1600
- Hungary revolts as a latin

Bugfixes:

- Uzbek.inc removed no
- Repaired the hungarian revolt event
- Bohemian eventfile now in action
- Corrected the spelling mistake in the first granadian event

Genoa by MM:

Tried it. Got following error messages:

Events 200206 - 200211 are double entries, AD you are using already once used Hansa range in Sicily!!

200210 has "barracks" which should be "barrack".

There are still two events with ID 200804 in major_hun...

- Fixed the ID conflicts quickly.

I could send in an updated Hungarian event file in a few days... btw, how late does Byzantium get the option to gain armenian culture?
For me, Georgia and Armenia have usually been swallowed before 1500 anyway... (so I mean, will there be much of a difference?)
You could also keep armenian culture in Armenia but still call georgian caucasian and have that culture in Daghestan.

Culturechange events should be tuned down. So the armenia event will likely use caucasian culture and won't include any relocations.

1550-1590 is the timeframe of Revival of Armenia. It actually seems much more logical if Armenia has been swallowed by some other than Byzantium then.

Woops. I thought that slovak was gone already actually... my bad. Does anyone have slovak culture in Abe?

Although a political union between a subordinate Armenia and superior Byzantine could also work. We should give the player the ability to take the initiative, if he wants to.

Only Hungary, as far as I know. Making those provinces Magyar or Czech seem like the best options if we want to do away with Slovak, the former for obvious reasons and the latter because Slovak and Czech are very closely-related languages. I think they're even mutually intelligible.

EDIT: Yup, this linguistics book here says they're around 90 percent mutually intelligible.

Ahh... well as long as someone has slovak culture I don't think it really needs to be removed. As long as it makes sense historically and serves some purpose gameplay-wise.

Slovak serves a good purpose in differing the slav guys in Bohemia from the slav guys in Hungary, I think. Meaning Hungary won't have the culture of Bohemia's lands at start.
