VICTORY!!! Germany surrenders to Soviets

March 1947 - June 1947

The Great Patriotic War is over.

In a brief ceremony at Templehoff Airport the new communist regieme in Germany surrendered to Soviet forces after handing over their former Nazi leaders to Soviet military police. The former Nazi leaders, including Herr Hilter, were lined up against a hanger wall and summarily executed.

The pleas from the German command to surrender to Red Army forces rather than be humiliated by the Allied armies were finally accepted mostly due to the belligerant actions of the USA in moving into Romania and Hungary after repeated warnings to stay out from our glorious and victorious leader Josef Stalin.

As predicted by Stalin when the collapse of the Whearmacht came it was swift and terrible. Allied forces broke out from their Southern Greek BH and rapidly moved North into the Balkens. The German position in Southern France collapsed with the Allies liberating Paris soon after. The German armies on the East front retreated back to Germany in panic and disarray.

Fascist Italy fights on against the Allies but judging by the communications out of Rome L'Dunce has taken to the vino bottle to find some consolation in his downfall.

Greater Germany is now a puppet of the USSR and will enjoy all the protection of the Commitern. With Germanies strong armed forces still in the field and its advanced tek now at the disposal of the Red Army there is no power on Earth that can rival the Soviet Union and its Empire.

Stalin Salutes the Victorious people of the Commitern.

Ok great game last night .

Good playing by Mike and troy

I still dont know why germany stopped attacking russia but that up to mike and troy .

I Cannot make it tonight sorry , meeting at club with Council stuff . Will be home around 8 at the latest . So can play from 8 ok if all ok .

Well tonight should be game . i am not realing into a WW3 game sorry boys
So another player can play for me after tonight if you boys are playing it right out .

But real for new game :} for Monday and tuesday .

And i know Gman is the same .
This will be the last new game in hoi2 for me as club getting ready to open soon . so if it is ok , Can i please play Gemrnay 1 last time . in new game .
 
Well i am interested in Playing WW3, Just not under the circumstances this game has fallen to.

After loosing so many brave souls in the earlier game to try and pull heat off of the Russians, (In Total some 120+Divisions, 80CW and 40 Yanks), then with the Russian German Peace Treaty for 2 years (which we were about to steam roll the Facists just before that happened).

And now with the capitulation of German..... HOWEVER German Maintains it's Armies. Im not about to sit back now and play puppet to a German Soviet alliance.

Nice play by the Axis and Commitern. But im sorry that is not WW3. Once Italy and Hungary fall, the War is over. If Germany had of been outright beaten OR Forced Disarmerment (which should have been the case) then i would have continued to play on. As it stands Italy won't surrender he would rather see his units die to prevent Allies from gaining them and the Russian German Warmachine have had a relatively quiet 2 Years to sit and do nothing but repair and rebuild where Allies have not had this comfort zone..

It's a Good Game, and i enjoyed gettimy my ass kicked around in the earlier years, but this Win belongs to the Allies. At a dmaned expensive cost i might add to.

Thats cool G, mike has only had the game for 5 days or something. Joel and I are already playing with self imposed handicaps ie no non historical action etc. Your more then welcome and we can teach as we go no problems. The game is easily learnable and with a 400 year timeframe by the end you'll be good at it.
 
Well from my point of view as Germany this game changed for me when the lalies moved all there forces against me and italy and just left japan to do as they wish. Not exactly historical or fair play with that action. So to claim now that other historical actions did not fall your way is silly.

But the main fact of the game and why the soviet union accepted the german pupet are this. Allies over ran all of asia without letting the USSR take its fair share and then under cut the soviets in Europe by invading from the east to cut them out of Europe. It seems the lack of communication between the allied and osivet powers lead to the current situation.

As for the game, well if the game is over and gunny is going to be late then lets just call it game if there is not much interest to play on. I wouldnt mind playing but no point if allies dont. It is also alot more balanced if Germany is communist as the allies have all of china and Japan on there team and likely italy, anyway.

I was just happy to last 3 more years after Japan collapsed far to easly, where was the major when we needed him. I didnt give us much hope after japan surrendered, but it was a fun tough fight.

However i think i will be leaving mondays and turesday nights so i can play some other games. Im alittle hoied out and would like to keep for myself just 2 games per week. 3 hoi games on 5 nights per week is alittle much i think for myself, 3 nights is alot better. Or maybe 1 game to be played 3 nights per week to make some faster progress.
 
Thats a fair enough comment Mike, and i think the Axis have done an excellent job this game. I was for the better part biting my nails all game long.

This happened cause you got to greedy in europe. The demise of Japan can also be acredited to this. Japan should have focused more on solving the Problem of America which would have stemmed the tide of this war. But after loosing there Fleet & trying to salvage Axis europe, it was quiet clear to us Allies that Japan was ill equipped for the Pacific War. It was all a matter of Timing. Axis europe hit me pretty damn hard, no one can claim the Europe first policy was an allied Objective, it became that way when your gains became to abundant.

As for the lament towards Russia, all i can say Mike is that you should have Annexed nolan when you had the chance to, i mean christ you were half way through freaking Russia.... Where excatly was Russia going to pull units from to worry about Asia and other Commitern type places? IT WAS NEVER about Allies taking so the communist couldn't had. Infact this game in many ways was about performing to relieve pressure on Russia. We lost over a Million troops Directly trying to salvage the War effort, and to be honest if it were not for our failed invasions i don't think this game would have presented us with the later opportunities that it did.

My Problem with this save is also the factor that i am now in Peace with Germany (Which i NEVER agreed to) which means i cant hit your Nuke Facility anymore, i cant continue to advance to liberate france or the Low countries.... Infact we cant do jackshit to Germany now unless we DOW the soviets.... If we do that then we will be facing more then we can chew... I doubt the allies can fight German+Russian Units in western Europe. I highly doubt the allies can beat the combined weight of the USSR and Germany...... Which is why we had not DOW'd Nolan yet.

Yes i do love it. I just havnt got time to play other games i also like. Its not a matter of not liking hoi but maybe in moderation.

1 rules i have seen being played as well is No usa trades into uk or russia or trade has to be 100 percent for them to be able to trade , NO fake trades

Well i can play Mon and Tuesday night . when thur and fri night game end those night will be out for me .
