I've put some formatting into them and converted it to pdf files (Acrobat Reader required). Both pdf files are inside the zip file.

Thanks Copper! :)

THANK YOU!! :D

(Though I think my boss will sue you... :p)

First impressions

WOrth the wait, gents, thank you very much.

First thing I notices was the brighter color of the ocean tiles. Not a necissary addition, but it is your attentiont o detailt aht makes this MOD great, and I think the brightening will be easier on ym eyes. Great job!

Tech costs have been fiddled with. While this will take some getting used to, I like the theory behind it, adn I think it is a good addition. Overall,t eh tech tree looks great, and not too many changes from v.6 to make my head spin.

I'm intrigued by the addition of transports to Germany's starting OOB. Especially the names of the units (South American, etc) Where can i find more information on the reasons behind this?

Good work, CORE team....give yourelves eacha cookie and a bit of time to sit and ENJOY your work!

I assume these are the ocean liners that nations used during wartime. At least England has them as well, probably others. Note the names of the groups, they are the names of the diffrent companies.

These are passenger liners that were extant in 1936. The fleet name is the shipping company that owned the ship. There was some discussion in the naval tree about these units. Go to the last post and scroll back a couple of pages and it should be there. Hope you enjoy. MDow

Hi fellas,

What an awesome piece of work! Thanks so much. :)

Q: While Torpedo Planes have been replaced by CAGs, many of the in-game tech texts (Upgrade Effects) still refer to Torps. Are both present, or have the Torps been completely removed as per Copper's tech manual?

If they have been removed, we just need some adjustments to the tech texts to reflect this.

It must be something with pic pack instalation, on my computer everything runs fine and Rommel fights in Spain. :D

Try installing pic pack (to the HoI directory) again, that should help.

Thanks for the reply, I tried to reinstall the pic pack, but it did the same thing, I took a look at the pic file and it looks like, the the ones that showing up as "X"s have 2 or 3 pics in the file. ( Guderian, for example.) Do you think it is getting confused in which one to use?

Can I just delete all of them and just put in a stock copy? I never had this problem before with the loading, guess it is a mystery!

I believe the system still sees them as Torpedo and the name has to stay the same for them. We just call them CAGs; system doesn't understand any difference.

I finally got the pics working ok, just recopied the old ones back into the pic folder, I have no idea why it didn't take the first time.

Another question that I could not find an answer to, did the latest version remove all the unique unit names from the planes, tanks, etc? Does it just go from Basic, Improved, etc? I never saw any names like PVII, Panther, Tiger, ME-109 etc. Just making sure I am not going crazy I guess.

If you refer to the torpedo planes in general, those planes were only removed as as separate unit, but are still present in CAG's (also naval patrol planes can carry torpedoes). So comments with texts like 'weapon ..... was carried by torpedo plane' are still valid.

If you refer to the unpgrade name (Tor) - unfortunately, upgrade effects name is hardcoded.

CORE 0.7 keeps CTDing when trying to load a scenario on Multiplayer, (1.05c with 0411 picpack and everything) Single player works just fine, but it always seems to CTD on multiplayer when the scenario is "Compressing the file", anyone else experiencing this? The other person i was playing with hosted and it CTDd for him too. Feedback would be appreciated.

CORE 0.7 is so far standard version, not MP one (since the MP doesn't work well with mod-dir function). I guess MP version will be released shortly...

The new tech tree looks great! However, I noticed that unlike in 1.05c, there is little bonus in the air doctrines in terms of attack, defense stats for planes, only org bonuses. Don't you think there should be some, to reward and encourage investment?

I hope the MP version comes out quick :)

Still you have to develop at least some doctrines (golden techs) to 'jump' to the next level of plane design (improved, advanced, rocket/jet).

I have to add that air/land doctrines were somehow left behind the other elements of modified tech tree in terms of cost/time ratio, as well as level of detail - their new versions will be included in the next releases of the mod.

Will this work on 1.06?

Maybe? :D

We still don't know how will 1.06 look like and what elements will be changed (so far we only know that navy will work better)...
When 1.06 shows up, we will try to create basic, updated version of the CORE compatibile with it as soon as possible.

Yay!

Now I only have to finish all those exams :(

True, but most games are over by the time you get up to advanced.

I have a question about MP as well (MP is really why I play the game, SP remains just a trainer) - has MP game balance been taken into account?

And a Spanish Civil War comment - I've playtested the game a couple of times, and the SCW seems to go into a stalemate, with the Republicans slowly taking the upper hand, which doesn't seem right. Obviously I haven't run the game enough times, but still, seems a bit worrying (especially for the Germans, as they get some tech only after the war is over).

Well, nice work. It is a BIG file, too big for my connection. Remember when I downloaded Stoney Road, took forever...

But this leads on to the question:

Is it any depository for individual event-files, where particularly nice events can be downloaded, so that we who daily experience the horror of erratic electricity supply and no good phone lines can get a taste of the action as well...

Where to you put the event-files and how are they triggered? If nothing else, I could trigger them manually, like the new Order event, liberty to puppets, convoy to Hungary, and such events...

In fact, the convoy to Hungary-event, for instance, came with Stoney Road, can i copy that event file into the event-folder for HoI and will it trigger? Perhaps it is a 1,03 or 1,04 version of Stoeny Road. Will that make it useless
