Is it possible to add new buildings in the game? To be more specific, I was thinking in hydro plants to generate energy, maybe at a cost of 20 IC for 2 years in exchange for a x% boost on energy production in a given province, and as a building it can be bombed. Is it possible?

On a second question, is it possible to create a event that increases the resource production of a province if you improve the infrastructure of it? Or should I use something like an event that increases the infrastructure and the resources but at a manpower/supplies/money cost?

Third and last, is the ai command to let the ai build infrastructure functioning properly? I tried to allow the ai to improve infrastructure but it keeps crashing the game.

The possibility to add buildings of your choice to the game was introduced by AOD.

By using events you should be able to increase/reduce the amount of produced resources in a province. If you combine several commands in one event you might achieve the desired effect. ;)

If I check my AOD event commands.txt file I can find this command:
type = add_prov_resource which = [prov id/-1/-4] value = X where = [energy/metal/ oil/rare_materials]
# -1 is random province, -4 is province with nuclear reactor.

In AOD infra has actually an effect on the resource production of its province. By building infra you can achieve substantial gains. ;)

Third and last, is the ai command to let the ai build infrastructure functioning properly? I tried to allow the ai to improve infrastructure but it keeps crashing the game.

This function was only recently added to AOD and they needed a beta patch to fix a major bug so that the ai should be able to build infra within certain limits. You might experience crashes in your game because this command, like several others mentioned in the event commands.txt file, was never implemented in Arma by P'dox.

Good! Tough also disheartening also, since it could be summed up as "buy AOD". Not that I'm wasn't thinking about that. The more I read, the more I like it, but the fun of moddable games of the strategic kind is that you keep modding, improving and replaying them. I think I have already chosen my christmas gift!

My post wasn't meant as an advertisement. ;) If you want to know how these and some other features have been implemented check the AOD sub-forum. You'll see and read there that there might be some other issues instead. Their developer diaries are very helpful, too.
