I know you're being sarcastic, but a Dark Ages game is the missing link in the Paradox game catalogue. I'd love to see a EU Rome-esque game based on the Dark Ages. The fall of the West, the rise of the Byzantine Empire, Vikings, great migrations, etc. would make for an interesting game.
You mean Crusader Kings? Or something to cover the period in between Rome and CK? Because I agree with you if you mean the second. As it is we miss out on the peak of the Eastern Roman Empire, Charlemagne, Vikings, the rise of many modern European kingdoms and so many other cool things that happened in that time period.

I don't mean Crusader Kings, as it wasn't set in the Dark Ages. CK was a Middle Ages game, unless I'm mistaken.

If a future EU Rome expansion took us to around 350AD (or so), the new game could cover 350AD - 1066AD. Obviously, this is a vast period of time and is probably a little too ambitious for a game project.

Yea, I don't really know when the Dark Ages ends and the Middle Ages begins. (I'm not even sure there is a universally accepted date)

But in any case, a 700 year long game would be quite a project, both to build and to play! EU3 is only around 400 years and I know I, for one, have only finished a few games from start to finish. There could really be a whole series of games in there.
