We are starting up Conflict and Converts: Winter revenge tomorrow (Friday) evening at 19.00 CET.

We may or may not miss a player right now but even if we are full there may well be one or two that do not turn up. And then we have Holland emergin in som 70-80 years. Then we need a player for sure.

If you are a reliable person with good manners you are wellcome to play in our campaign providing there are vacant places. We only allow nice players and unknown players in the game.

Currently we have a number of new players. According to statistics some of them will quit rather soon (because they misunderstood what was expected from them or their moral is below an accpetable level) and thus it may be advantageous for you to announce your interest to play right now.

If you feel this description fits your personality then post your interest in the game thread

Tsk tsk Daniel, give our newbies a chance!

The average playing length of a random newbie is according to my experience two or three sessions. I may be wrong but not by that much.

I want every player who joins the game at start to play until the end. This is a long term game for me, and especially diplomacy is badly hurt by quits in the middle of the game.

But since newbies must get a chance I will always approve of having them on board, but their number must be low, because we do not know about their character and experience sadly shows that perhaps only 1 out of 3 turns out to have a character and interest of the game that fits our demands (which incidentally not all of the oldtimers do, but they we at least know about and thus we have a chance to avoid those unfit). And I prefer to have those newbies on board whose interest for the game is such that we have a reasonable chance they will play from start to end. Not one that merely has the interest of "giving it a try". They can make that try in some campaign where I do not play. There are a lot of games where the GM accepts newbies just on sight, as if he was some kind of person who stood on the pavement and grabbed potential customers and "convinced" them to enter the shop/show, like in the red light district in Amsterdam which I am sure you are acquainted to. ;)

By stressing our demands before the game starts the chance increases that those newbies we get belong to those that are nice and reliable. (Ozzeh, you have perhaps noted my new favourite word: reliable!)

New favourite word? I think you've had that one for quite some time :D

And I have... *ahum* been to the red light district in Amsterdam ;)

But I really don't think its as bad as 1 out of 3. I think 2 out of 3 finishes the campaign.

Sorry for spamming. I just wanted to know whether you are still talking about the red light district. :p

Jus keep on spamming, it keeps the thread close to the top.

Perhaps someone can tell about a juicy story from the red light district. It seems to attract viewers ;)

Oh, now this thread may be closed

Yeah lets hear tales of Ozzehs "adventures"
and newbies don't quit that often, the Time Machine for example was abandoned when the veteran players had issues but all the 4 newbies were in it from start to end :)

Hmmm, about the rl district. Voices are going up to shut it down. Doubt it will happen, but who knows. If it happens, we'll lose one of our two top major tourist attractions. Of course everyone knows what the 2nd is.
Wrong, wrong and wrong. Not the tulips, the mills and not the rest you mentioned.
Come on, try harder... it's really not that difficult. ;)

To make this thread a bit On-Topic, I won't be able to make it tomorrownight so the OE will need a player (really they do). So any sub that that would accept this challenge should either PM me or ICQ me for instructions (number is in the sig)

Oops labalag, please report in our real game thread as well. And to bad the other night when you subbed FRA and those evil Prussians attacked you twice.

-----------

Ozzeh, I vote for Rijksmuseum. But such a "standard" cannot obviously be what you had in mind. :(

Hmmmz darn.. guess that means we need a new France :(

Hmmm.....I sadly cannot give you a definite "yes" yet, as there are a lot of things going on at present, which are out of my hands (mostly booze or universityrelated :D ), but I am definetly most interested to sub as I have had a strong urge to play this magnicifent country, France, for some time now...

I will try to give you a definite answer at 17.00 CET tomorrow at the latest.

Cheers,

Wonko
