New Hoi1 Patch 1.06d/1.07

Did that catch your attention

WTF the rumours start here..........

With the release of the Europa engine for modding the Hoi executive

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8965097#post8965097

I thought would have caused some discussion here but it didn't but in the other Hoi1 fourm Stony Road there has been some interest in it ,but alas no one with the capabilities to actually use the source code.

All many Hoi1 players want is to have the number of User defined tag numbers ingame increased just to have U00-99 numbers like hoi2,(instead of just U00-19) it would be easy for someone with programing knowledge to do i think as originally hoi1 came out with no UD numbers at all they were added by one of the later versions/patches.With this simple tweak the game would just be much more user modifiable and it would not effect the game as it stand at all just adding the extra tags to exe and text.csv.

It would i think be very simple for someone with the source code for the HoI.exe to make such patch for 1.06c a Hoi 1.07 if you like.

Such a simple tweak would really open the game up to being able to have many extra post war country's and/or enable you to mod the game changing nations and there flags through time you could have a Imperial Germany,Weimer Germany,Nazi Germany,West&east Germany for example or Communist alternatives for other countries..many different possibilities with just a small tweak.

The release of the source code actually could make huge changes to the game engine and or the map like New provinces and countries.

BUT very simple idea of just adding extra user defined country's tags would not alter or cause any issues with the game itself or any of the mods people currently play so would be ideal for all.

You have my interest. I have always loved the satisfying combat system in HOI1 which is one of the reasons I haven't abandoned HOI1 completely.

I can not read the link you write about from office.
What it is about this new patch ?
My wish would be several corrections :
- un-initialised attack/defense/move modifers (you know the Necessary Equipment patch yourself correction) for ground/air/naval units.
- strat bombing idiot target selection by IA (not counting FTR and Flak on the path, only on the province target)
- Night combat : even with Core Mod, ground units use air night attack/defense malus/bonus in ground combat if also bombed by air at night !

And one improvement : Convoy path drawing in the general map (you can see a naval unit path but not a convoy why ???)

Still love Hoi1. I tried again Hoi2/Doomsday last week-end only to have a crash after several (lost) hours. Never happen with Hoi1.

Interested

Maybe the new patch will remove the dreaded air-stacking penalty and improve AI instead? And personally I also find it hard to play as the Soviet Union in 1936 on Very Hard/Furious, maybe lower starting dissent or eliminate it?

but this can be done by changing the inc-file and installing the anti-stacking-penalty-patch.

asp patch is available here in the download-zone:

well i've to admit that the patch isnt removing the stacking penalty for 100% as it was in the early ersions but its far better now...

Ill help with ideas and research but coding i have no knowledge in :(

one thing i think needs to be reworked is the distance modifier, its bugged :/ when land say in normandy sometimes troops being supplied from newyork still...

With the source code it would be possible to give HOI1 a new, more detailed map (something similar to the one on HOI2).

Finding programmers isn't that difficult a task, especially when you already have a source code for them to work from.
