So I was thinking about the Tiles in the game, I I know there's a lot of them, 441 if I'm not wrong, so I thought, why it can go far from a normal square box tile, like CS1 have done, and try something new and could be fresh and compatible for the game, and logo, a Hexagon, so I made this illustration here of what I imagined, in the future I think more Tiles will be unlockable, maybe in a Deluxe Edition, or by Mods.

This is how I imagined, the green spot, normally you can't choose somewhere else, so I think it could let people choose where to start, and later on, based on the colors I made a illustration, in the image you can get better information about this idea.

Let me know what you think!

Five levels of unlockable tiles? Come on...! Why such restrictions? I don't believe any modder would like to stick to this.
Not five levels, it's just a illustration because I couldn't put all the tiles, and the idea is for the future so we can unlock more tiles, and I was trying to suggest a large amount of tiles to be expanded in some updates or modders himself can do something cool for like full map tiles of playable space. I think I made it complicated to understand.

We do not exactly know the details in which the tiles outside the default playable area differ from the 23*23 potential playable area.
If they are mostly the same and the reason they are not available is mostly the avoidance of building up to the map border (keeping the backdrop mountains as a buffer), then unlocking all of them is mostly a cosmetic choice. And people will do it.
If the simulation breaks down for some reason, then unlocking them by default is of course difficult. Remember that the outer tiles in 81 tiles did have problems with service vehicles in CS1.
The border ring representing the last row of unlockable tiles might be special as well (with hidden spawners or something), maybe there lies a reason, why the map is the size it is.

In any case, the idea to have a "deluxe" edition to unlock more tiles rubs me wrong, and this is something I don't believe CO would do. The map structure will be updated for everyone, if it ever changes (I could also imagine non-square maps). Also, all this discussion about the map size is a bit moot, until we have the game in hand and actually get to push its (and our computer's) limits. A large map that never gets fille d simply because you'd need a supercomputer for the simulation not to break down is pretty useless.

BTW: learn to use, what a hexagon is. You have approximations of circles in your illustration.

One thing I don't understand much... The game, announced within new tile system, is not released yet and you already think to another new system while you didn't try it - i guess

we can read improvment has been made 1 tile CS 2 > ⅓ CS 1 if am not mistaken and all tiles can be unlocked in the new game, unike the previous one (or with mods)
Reading the dev diaries, I see they tried satisfying community within less restrictions - user's hardware may be the main restriction

i think the improvment for future could be the opportunity to draw the plot we'd like a bit liek when you go to land register... and the game would calculate the selected space, price, resoruces, all....and would show yr plot but being honest, i don't think that's possible in a near future

Wait & see how the new tile system is :)

Understandable, I will wait to see how maps function in the game, but I'm really confident the Devs are going to optimize the outside tiles so people can have even more tiles to play, and who knows, maybe the full map can be playable someday

my proposal is only 2 versions, 35x35 tiles and all tiles completely.
upd: 2nd variant is too heavy and WILL melt your PC. So, maybe it gonna be 45x45 tiles only. Still no info from top modders to discuss.
