Both prussians have leaderfile in original game i think, but albert needs one.

Here's one about Albert - wikipedia of course:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert,_King_of_Saxony

Albert mini:
He was commanding left wing of Austria-Saxon army in battle near Hradec Králové.
He was good tactician, but here was generaly fumble, when moved his troops into forward (better of his opinion) position, then he was been compelled to fight separate battle.

ok, but about ramming and auffenberg i suggest write full name: Ramming von Riedkirchen + Auffenberg von Komarów (or without Komárow -> he received this name after battle of Komárow)

Some thoughts:

Ok, here we go again!

First and foremost I want to give thanks and congratulate Prinz Wilhelm and Pangi for joining their efforts in the task of improving the leader files of Victoria, an aspect of the game that always struck me as something unfinished and incomplete.

Pangi, I don't know if these are the first pics you make, but they look very good indeed. As another member of this forum has pointed to you, you should save the pics as.png before uploading them, otherwise, they will be transformed to .jpg format, and some undesired interlacing with the green background of the pics will happen. I made the same mistake in my first postings, until Kaiser Franz prevented me about it ;) .

As for the leaderfiles that Prinz Wilhelm posted, i'd like to make some comments about them. I made some research before adding their pictures to the game files, and in doing so I gathered quite a lot of information about them.

The source of all this information was the net, and to be precise, these pages (for Austrian leaders)
-wikipedia (in English, as unfortunately I'm absolutely unable to read German, although the German wikipedia provides a steady supply of images for austrian and german leaders)
-http://www.austro-hungarian-army.co.uk/ A very good page about Austrian armies and leaders between 1848 and 1918.
-http://www.geocities.com/veldes1/austria.html Another excellent resource for Austro-Hungarian military leaders in WWI

Another day, I will post some other resources for the other nations present in the game.
Now, let me make some commentaries about the leaderfiles:

Baron von Hess was Marshal Radetzky's chief of staff during the later's victorius North Italian campaigns of 1848-49, wich culminated in the resounding victory of Novara in 1849. Much of these victories were due to Hess' abilities in his work, and Marshal Radetzky acknowleged it. A year later, Hess became chief of staff to the emperor, and remained in this prestigious post until 1861. in addition to that, he was sent to several european capitals i diplomatic missions and was put in charge of the Austrian army that forced the Russian evacuation of the Balkans during the Crimean War. I'm not so sure that the background "cartographer" and the personality "inspiring" reflect very well his abilities.

Baron von Gablenz was a bold and brilliant cavalry commander who performed consistenly well against the Hungarians in 1848-49, the Piedmontese and French in 1859 and the Danes in 1864. In the 1866 war he commanded the X Corps in Bohemia under Benedek's general command, and he obtained one of the rare Austrian victories of that campaign against the Prussians in Trautenau. But his personality had also another side: he led a luxurious lifestyle that forced him to speculate in the stock exchange to provide for it. When the Viennese stock exchange crashed in 1873, general von Gablenz commited suicide on the 28th of January 1874. Definitely, not a gifted administrator, in my humble opinion.

Finally, some things about archduke Friedrich:He was the son of the hero of Custozza, archduke Albrecht, and grandson of archduke Karl, the victor of Aspern. So he was a member of the militarilly-gifted branch of the family, and he owed his rank in the army to this fact, not to outstanding martial qualities of his own. His real qualities lay in other fields: with the death of his father in 1895, he became the richest man in the empire, the owner of a mighty economic machine with enormous land estates and thriving industial and commertial firms. He had an excellent education in industrial and agrarian matters, and he managed his legacy extremely well, becoming even richer in the process. He was also a man of considerable diplomatic ability: he was universally liked and had connections in practically all the principal european capitals. In July 1914, when the outbreak of war was imminent, he was appointed commander-in-chief of the Habsburg armies because of these abilities: In fact, he was expected to keep himself uninvolved in military matters, and to allow the chieff of staff, Conrad von Hotzendorff, total liberty of action. He did so, and his excellent relations with the main civilian and military leaders of Germany (he was particularly well liked by the Germans) proved invaluable to smooth the cooperation among the allied empires. I more or less agree with the backgound "powerful friends" (he was Franz Joseph's favorite, after all), but not with personality "skilled". Perhaps "diplomat" would be a better choice?

Wow, I didn't expect this post to be so long, but well, these were my two cents.

Ok, before getting started with the new US leaderpics I've made, I'd like to post a pic I made of the Irish revolutionary leader Patrick Pearse (as you know, last year was the 90th anniversary of the Easter Uprising)

OMG!
I love you so much Semper Victor. That really is fantastic! It just so happens I have a quote of his in my signature. Both our Taoiseach and I share a passion for P.H. Pearse and his love for his country and language. Having a Victoria leader picture of him makes me delighted. :)

Well done and keep these leader pictures coming!

Italian Leaders (I)

* was thinking, expert_raider, innovative_tactician or cavalry school. discuss?

I think that "cavalry school" is the more correct option. He was not an innovative tactician by any means, and as far as I know he wasn't anything like Jeb Stuart, to justify the trait "expert_raider".

I'm going to point now some leaders for Piedmont-Italy. There are more in the way, but they're still in the kitchen :D , along with some more Prussian ones.
So, these ones will have to do for now:

LEADERS ALREADY IN THE GAME:

Carlo Alberto Amedeo di Savoia, King of Sardinia-Piedmont (1798-1849) + Leaderfile done

Hi, i'm writing this post just to announce to you that I've changed all the leaderpics in this thread to PNG format, and that I've also made some changes (for better, I hope) in the British leaderpics, so you can have a look at them in the first page of this thread and thell me what do you think about them. :)

I'm going to alternate between making new stuff and redrawing some of the pics I've done, in the Russian and French leaderfiles especially. I'll keep you informed about it, and un til my next post, take care!

Yay!
