I tried AGC-EEP a couple of years ago, but was put off by the geographical innaccuracy of the map, instead opting for Kasperus. Since then I've occasionally checked back to see if the new map is finally done, but haven't seen anything about it in at least a year. So is it still actually going to happen? What exactly is holding the team back (assuming there's a team)? I'm a modder for the TW games, so understand that you can't give a release date or guarantee it or anything, but would be nice to know the current status :)

It is frustrating that there is never any news about the map.
News creates expectations.

and hope is the first step on the road to disapointment

I'm sure I can take it

I seem to remember there being a provinces spreadsheet online that was constantly updated, but a I forgot the link. Is that still about?

Last news by Garbon were map finished at 90%. But it doesn't say last 10% are the easiest ones.

it should be: the 1st 90% takes 90% of the time, and the next 10% takes the next 100% of the time.

Still, Garbon isn't doing this as a totally solo project. He has undertaken it as a member of the high council, and using the contributions made by countless supporters of AGCEEP. Therefore, he is obligated to at least periodically update us on his progress. If he were to be incapable of finishing the map, the AGCEEP community would be totally in its rights to find someone else who can. That is why we need to know how it is progressing...if it continues to be done completely behind closed doors, it will just be another MKJ map, with all the problems that that entailed.

We decided to do it behind closed doors because we had our reasons and we expressed them when decision was made. You can't say there is no information at all.

But is it interesting to know Garbon is struggling with technical limitations and number of sea zones to be drawn and drawn again in the middle of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, assuming real provinces are defined according to what was provided (with very few if no changes) in the drafts? And, of course, Garbon can't devote 24 hours a day to this task.

In regards to sea zones, I thought Garbon decided to retain the current sea zones and change the land only as this will benefit the need to not change explorer etc issues

Maybe I bothered you with this before, but did you consider that wars will now be much slower when there are more provinces? One thing I hated in MMG is that my Austria went into a badboy hell when I inherited Burgundy. That's when I stopped playing it.

Check sea zones in original MKJ map , a lot of cleaning needed because MKJ map was used as seed, and, of course, with exploration issues in mind...

Badboy is another issue...

IMO, a major issue will be the lagging during big wars, expecially in the second half of the game as it is currently happening with 1.09 patched eu2 engine.

What may render these "tentative issues" irrelevant is that EU2 2.0 is also being developed in parallel; IIRC by some members of the HC?
