I just published my first mod, Career Leopard Start, on Nexus. As the name implies, it starts in Career mode with the Leopard rather than the Argo, and includes a series of linked flashpoints to find and recover the Argo.
(I also jsut published my second mod, Career Select Pilots, but it's not nearly as interesting.)

If anyone does use this, be aware that the Leopard and Flashpoints do not play well together. After concluding a Flashpoint conversation, there will be an image of a planet overlaying some of the Leopard's rooms. This doesn't affect any funcationality and will go away after loading a saved game (until the next Flashpoint convo).

I'd like to acknowledge the contributions of @Amechwarrior for his Flashpoint Authors Guide, @CWolfs for ConverseTek, @Mpstark for ModTek and its documentation, @HBS_Eck for his documentation of debug mode and contractparser, and the several mod authors whose work I examined to help figure things out.

got a question for ya.
i like to use the mods Mission Control and its sub mod Bigger Drops which among other things gets you a junk leopard to fix/repair/upgrade on the Argo increasing the number of mechs you can drop.

would it be possible to keep Bigger Drops from 'activating' until the Argo is acquired?
other then waiting and installing it after.
maybe and event 'x' days after getting argo your guys find the junked leopard to buy and it starts the mod?

not even sure if its possible to do something like that...
 
Career Leopard Start sets a tag "career_ship_leopard", which is removed when the Argo flashpoint is completed. That can be used as an exclusion tag for acquiring the junk Leopard, but I'd have to look through Bigger Drops source code to see exactly how that acquisition is triggered. I don't see an event as part of the mod, so I'm guessing it's in the code somewhere.

there is no event for it.....it is just there in the argo upgrade when you install it.
the tooltips for the upgrades tells a little story as you upgrade
 
I just installed Mission Control and Bigger Drops, so I could se where the additional Leopard options comes up. I don't see where that should conflict with Career Leopard Start though; if you start in the Leopard, Engineering isn't available until you acquire the Argo. Unless the way that the dropship is switched to the Argo prevents Bigger Drops from working. I'd need more time to play through and test that, and I probably won't have a chance until tonight at least.
 
ok so....with 1.9 i am not able to start a new career with this mod.
i cannot get past the confirm button after choosing my commander.
i remove yours and all is good.
with it the confirm button clicks but nothing happens.
no issues with any of my other mods.

this is part of my must have mods i hope you can figure what the deal is.
