It's more to do with RN policy than technical limitations although both have a role to play, but for security reasons I don't want to explain more on an open forum. Not an ideal answer I know but you'll just have to trust me on this one ;)
Of course, my point was that she is well able to and personally I think there is a great deal to be had from ships torpedoes. However once you start putting torpedos on a ship that might fire them at anything close to it..... Well there are certainly things to consider with regards doctrine.

With a Type 45 deployed it was always likely that an SSN was deployed down with her.

Apparently we will have a submarine cruising around down there: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/navy-sends-submarine-falklands-092828454.html

Im sure Argentina will be ecstatic about this..

My guess is that is always the case and the MoD is just telling us as part of the ongoing pissing contest...now is our turn...we will weaponize some wind-surf tables, you´ll see! :)

There´s zero chance of anything coming out of this, Apple Inc. has more cash than we do, maybe them will start a war somewhere...

Still a great "what if" scenario if a somewhat modern carrier battle group and a couple of not obsolete subs could be added to our navy...please!!

I'm not quite happy with this model; the mid hull seems to bulge back from the prow to the bridge rather then curving smoothly; its this a limit of the game engine?

It also looks a bit short, almost stunted. The upper-deck detail looks spot-on, however.

Hi Darthey,
I agree, there is something weird with the mid hull. I will look over it one more time. There might be some soft/hard edge errors, making the contrast a bit sharp. The overall proportions should be correct, it might be the camera lens playing a trick :)

Is it me, or does the superstructure spill over the edge of the deck on the sides?

As opposed to being flush with the sides of the hull:

If what my eyes are telling me is correct, I guess it just needs the hull's width adjusting to match the main building's?

Apart from that, it's a super sexy model ;)

I was actually wondering that myself. Also about the details around and in front of the main gun. :p

To quote Jan, it is a quick render of the unit in Maya, and not how it will look in the game engine.

Tbh, I think we all owe Jan a pint for his effort in putting up with our constant questions! :p

A pint feels like a splendid idea right now, imperialman! :)

New and fixed Daring:

I think Øyvind has nailed it now.

The Daring looks different on every photo, really. The exact angle and lighting means that some edges that show up in one photo are hidden in the others.

Great job on the new model! Though, I do have to ask, what are the features on the forecastle?

What, specifically?

The sort of elevated circular platform the gun sits on and the long thing light grey shape going from the gun barrel forward.

The real ship seems to be bald in that area (for want of a better word).
