yep, correct.. "modteck" in built into the game now and well, the guys.. umm mitch and company.. didn't.... quite... get.... it..... right. It's gotta be a just a tiny tad bit embarassing.. And it shows they didn't QC this properly. I am very disappointed! If they had, they would have caught this! Because all the rest of us caught it right away.. Mods work but they break flash points.. you get one count 'em one flash point and that's it. Never any more.

They will fix, should be very very soon.

some comment from "guys" working on "new" ModTek:
1. It is certainly not "new" - it is almost "old" just changed to act with respect to BT 1.8 new features.
2. ModTek 0.7.4 is not interacting with vanilla modLoader nor bypassing it nor disabling - nothing.
3. You can use both ModTek and ModLoader they are loading mods from different folders.
4. ModTek has no UI except progress window and not interfering modLoader UI at all (see pt. 2)
5. ModTek 0.7.4 is not acting like mod suitable for modLoader - it still need ModTekInjector to run (see pt. 6).
6. ModTek 0.7.4 staring much earlier than modLoader - BTPerfFixer for example need to be started very early, before some core game startup processes - modLoader can't this architecturally.
7. I took care of ModTek for only one reason - modLoader had not been able to load my mods, ModTek did. I'm willing to act now - not waiting HBS make fixes (which of course will be done) and i capable to do this.
8. I've added to ModTek 0.7.4 functions to load almost every type of dynamic enums (thanks Eck for them) not only factions as ModLoader.

mods based on code rather than data, working or not working regardless loading method (ModTek or ModLoader). BTPerfFixer just one exception cause it patching very core methods.
MissionControl mantained by CWolf as i heard he had compatible version - in testing state not for wide community for now but soon.
BiggerDrops mantained by Jamie Wolf - same state.
But, as said, working states of these mods are not depending on loading method - so it is better ask their maintainers themselves .
As for mods included to CustomBundle - only mod not compatible with ModLoader - CustomUnits cause it using relay game's data loading mechanics - only one reason brings ModTek 0.7.4 to life.
CustomBundle 1.8 compatible version had been released not too long time ago. Compatible version of BTPerfFixer provided by m22spencer has been included.
