This is a stand-alone event pack, so basically you can add it to vanilla without altering anything in the rest of the game (except the few events that are "slept" by code for gaming purpose or bug fix - really not much of them though).

I don't know how it will work with CORE, since it was developped with HOI vanilla in mind... It should not really conflict with anything, except the event numbers, which I don't know in CORE.

If you want to implement this for CORE compatibility, you have my blessing, but you should eventually ask for the Yogi's (who has the initial paternity of the NOEP ;) )

The file directory has been compressed into the ZIP file (if I used the zip tool correctly). In any case, you can just copy-paste the files into :
  • repertory [your HOI repertory]\db for files revolt.txt and events.txt
  • repertory [your HOI repertory]\db\events for other event files
  • appropriate repertory for ministers, flags and map files... see edit note below.

EDIT : put winzip display in explorer mode, that should show the repertory path. And download the new .zip file, because I forgot to put the minister and flag files in the version released yesterday ;)

Woops. That was something from the previous NOEP - the file was missing in the package and I don't really have the knowledge to create it myself.

But you're right, we have to do something about that. Possible solutions (any one of those solves the problem) :
  • make a copy of your built-in ussr.ai file, and rename the copy ussr_defeated.ai
  • search in the file new_order_east.txt and replace the string ussr_defeated.ai by ussr.ai
  • download newer new .zip file that I changed again ;)
  • create a nice .ai file for ussr being defeated yourself. That's the leet choice. Let me have a copy of it by the way :D

Sorry for the inconvenience - and thanks for helping me to debug the release ! It worked good on my comp but just forget some files in the archive and it ruins the project...

Well, now I hope it works, have fun, and don't hesitate to post again in case something's wrong again ;)

I didn't say it could not work with CORE... I just said that I didn't check if it works ;)

Basically, it is supposed to work with any configuration of HOI (vanilla or not) since it is a standalone event pack. But with such a big mod as CORE, it is possible that some of the event numbers used could be conflicting.

If you wish, you are very welcome to check it, and eventually propose a "New Order" for CORE, if fixing is needed ;)

Just unzip the file in your HOI folder : normally, every file should go to its correct folder, since the arborescence was zipped intact. But you may want to check that manually, just to be on the safe side.

Some existing files will be replaced, like the revolt.txt and the event.txt files. You may want to make backup copies of them. Especially if your current event file already refers to custom events not included in the NO event pack, which you will then have to add manually (or add manually the NO events to your current event file, if you prefer).
 
Do those of you who have tried the NOEP 5.0 have found bugs, or more generally have any comments about the event pack ? All feedback welcome :)

Personnaly, I find the "database mismatch" error, that sometimes happens when a country is automatically liberated, to be quite unpleasant. It is not fatal though, as clicking "ignore" when the error windows pop up lets the game resume. But I still don't know why certain leaders defect to other countries when you annex them. Last day there was 2 belgian officers in Irak, causing the "database mismatch" when the liberation of Belgium occured. Don't ask me why :wacko:

It should fire in every scenario. Only a new 1941 scenario file was included because the standard 1941 built-in file was so different from what was supposed to happen in the NOEP that it could cause problems to happen afterwards. This is the work of the Yogi (et al.) and I did not alter it, and since I very rarely play the 1941 scenario I'm not specialist...

Thanks for your comments ! You're very welcome. Some people thought that Warsaw uprising was too minor an event to spend time on such heavy coding (have you seen the length of the event and it's aftermaths with liberation of Poland ?) but I really wanted to see it included in the game. I'm really glad that you liked it. (Did you notice how the borders of Poland can change after the war if Poland was liberated by its inner resistance, by the Allies, or by the USSR ?) I had great fun also to code the uprising of Yugoslavia.

The goal of all my Liberation of Europe events was to reward the Western Allies / USSR with new allies / puppets according to their advance in Europe against Germany. For example France can turn stalinist if the Red Army liberates Paris... ;)

Anyways thanks for playing it, feel free to send as much comments and feedback as you like !
 
I don't remember if exist or not in your new order pack, but try to include RSI Repubblica Sociale Italiana (Italian Social Republic, collaborazionist state who born after 8th september 1943, I think you simply create it when all colonies is lost and when sicily is taken) and work to a real italian civil war from 1943 against Italy (regular infantry plus partisan antifascist: commie, socialist, monarchich, democratic-cristian, liberal who fight in Italy against RSI). I think a good idea is take leaders and pics from hoi2, and if you want to improve your event pack i'll suggepst to you about history and related characters of this period.

I still play core since 2004 and playing it is still better to play hoi2!! I see that in core the RSI event doesn't work well, so i suggepst to le ran to improve it. The only RSI event that i seen to work were on Super AI bundle, but - and this is a frequent problem for this argument - rsi ministers and leaders for hoi mod1 are not the real and they're few in number. So i propose to improve them :D

Have you tested New order Event Pack 106c for core? Does it works?
Can you add me msn, so if there are some news about it [i am very intersted if new event order will work on core, but i've no experience with testing, modding and similar] you can say to me.

The big question is does NOEP work with CORE???,i have been checking.Basically NOEP adds many of the New Order events already in core to Vanillia hoi1.06c.So i some ways it is pointless to add NOEP to core,But NOEP has new_order_liberation.txt which core does not.so i changed its name to cored_new_order_liberation.txt and added it to the CORE_events.txt as

It seemed to run smoothly with core ,i think the liberation events on the whole (maybe not poland)should be added to core definatly the greek and yugoslavian liberation events in my opinion.I like the idea of the countries that get liberated by soviets become soviet puppets this is good but wrong for finland ,it should just give in to soviet territorial demands and become neutral and i think that romanias and bulgarias regime change are already part of core mod???
Anyway it is possible to cut and paste and add and remove parts,but i do think its a great mod for vanilla (NOEP with vanillia i found had a province id error for Dobrich) especially for all the people that dont enjoy the core new techs and gameplay ,but for core players it is worth perhaps play testing the new order liberation events with core and working out what should be added to core.

Thanks for taking interest into the NOEP!

Lavrentij Beria: The RSI is a good idea, but as far as I remember every possible new country (slots U00 to U19) is already modded in the NOEP, so adding one would imply removing another one... By the way, another flaw in the NOEP (in the probable case you didn't notice... because it almost never happens ;) ) is that the possibility of Europe being liberated by an Allied Italy was not coded. Eventually, it could be useful if Italy is puppeted by the human player, who then invades the rest of Europe through it's territory (I don't think that puppets in HOI1 give you back the land you conquer from them their territories, while they do in Doomsday...)

Dr Rare: Thanks for having checked compatibility with Core! I'm glad to know that there are still interesting things to get from the NOEP. By the way there are a few Easter eggs, but most will probably never happen either... For example, if Hitler is killed so that Germany is no longer Nazi, and if the Germans manage to make peace, they will tend to liberate a few countries that they could have annexed (Sweden and Norway I think...) Other example, the british send to Yugoslavia the Balkan Air Force after the uprising...

Dr Rare: Other thing : the liberation of Poland / Uprising of Warsaw events use the event ID "Molotov-Ribbentrop" (both vanilla and NOEP IDs AFAIR) in its trigger. If the file liberation.txt is used without the rest of the NOEP, you have to check that the trigger still fits with the core Mol-Rib ID.

On my "to do" list, I wanted to code the premises and the aftermaths of the coup against Hitler : in what conditions would it be tempted, what happens if Germany sues for peace while still not defeated in Europe, etc.

Actually, I'm not considering new coding to the NOEP for HOI1 (though you may very well consider it as "open source"): but I'm currently playing Doomsday, and it's not impossible that someday I try to port the NOEP to Doomsday because the built-in liberation of Europe isn't really... well... you know what I mean ;)

One Clash there is with NOEP and CORE is that in CORE country U03 is Inner Mongolia and in NOEP it is Flanders so this needs to be altered by people using both together.Are all the slots really used in NOEP(slots U00 to U19)?I didnt think so ?Should be possible just to change flanders tag to one not used in core.
