Seeing as I cant get a game otherwise I am hoping to set up a new 5plus member game of DD(arm) with 8 air stacks ie (ZBLV) playing on Australian weekends and weekday evenings where possible.

starting ASAP

interested?

not that i know

not to my knowledge

as far as i can tell in oz we have quite a few people keen for a game who cant get one and just give up.

not good from a community point of view

we should encourage participation

my own experience is overwhelmingly negative except for the notable exception of gunships who helps out

in the time i have tried i have observed 4 new players just give up due to community lack of interest.

simple observations

of course there may be reasons why this is so

Yes there are reasons,

Usually we dont like to allow new players into existing games because they either do undesireable things (in most cases start random dow-athons, liberations movements or do silly attacks that cost one side or the other too much for a game most of us invest alot of time into.

As with 99.9% of them they dissapear after 1 or 2 session never to reappear, and in some cases doing none of the things there Alliance leader requests.

We always post when were starting a new game, keep alook out and post when we do.

IF you play weekends then saturday after 1am is good time for random/throw together games. You must understand that some of us have been here for years and are just tired of seeing new players pop up every so often only to leave after theyve decided they have had enough.

If your face is still around 6months down the track you will find most people will be generally more appreciative that you are a reliable and regular player.

Just saying.

Mighty G pretty summed it up. We have been playing together as a group for many years now. Some of us have been here since hoi1 first came out, close to 6 years.

You cant expect to simply jump into a game as a minor nation in a game that has already been runing for a month and well into the game. You may think it does not unbalance the game but it does.

There is also a problem we have had from time to when players join in for a session then bugger off, going from Human to AI seems to bug the game and cuase more problems. We have learnt this through much pain and wasted game time.

So dont think we are being rude, it is simply we are not going to allow new people to join into existing games. You have to wait for a new game to start and then play a minor first, this builds trust and lets you learn how we generaly play our games. After that you can play a major.

Go ahead and start up a game, will be good experience for you. You are more then welcome to join our future games, more the merry.

Mighty and Mike are quite right. i joined the group 2 years ago and have played continuously since. Join a new game, take a minor, and not some wacko south american, and join in the fun. Pretty soon you'll be a UK defending against sealion or Germany trying to stave of d-day.
