Ok, seriously... When can we expect a new patch? There are major problems with 1.06. There are major problems with the Director's Cut version. I paid $39.99 for the game (plus tax) and its basically unusable. Here's were I found the game crashing:

* Nothing exciting happening -- just little boats sailing from port to port
* Trying to save a game after I merged fleets
* Canceling the movement of one boat to a different fleet
* Multiple times during battle mode

If we continue to do all of this troubleshooting, shouldn't we get paid? Its ridiculous that you (NITRO) released a game with soooooooo many bugs. I would really like to play the game, but in a stable configuration.

Yes, my graphics drivers are up to date. Yes my sound drivers are up to date. I've noticed major problems using both Windows Vista and Windows 7. (I even bought Windows 7 earlier hoping it would fix some problems)

So I ask you again, when can I expect another update??? In the mean time I guess I'll be playing Left4Dead or Prototype. Those games have never crashed while I played them. I really want to play EIC as you intended, not as you released!

Strange! I have run EIC with patch 1.06 many hours now, and I have not had a single crasch.

I am running without DC, there seems to be some problems with that release, so I stay with 1.06 for the time being.

What Capt Nemo said. I've had no problems with 1.06, and the problems I've read about with it here seem to mostly be hardware/driver or installation procedure related. Are you sure the game wasn't running in the background when you installed the 1.06 patch? That messed up my first try at installing it. Designers Cut and Privateer are another issue and I'm also staying away from Designers Cut till it's fixed.

I wish I was as lucky as you all! I've played with both versions, and currently have 1.06 installed. While it is more stable than DC, it still crashes frequently. My latest crash was during a 1-on-1 battle. As you can tell from other participants, A LOT of people are having problems too. Instead of hurrying to get the game, and its subsequent patches/versions to the market, they should have been tested. I did not pay $40 to Beta test this game. Now, I just want a fix. Is that too much to ask? BTW, I'd like to know when I can expect that fix too! ;)

Haven't had problems with the game patched to 1.06, but I did have problems with DC. Had to uninstall everythng. I have re-installed up to 1.06 and Pirate Bay, no problems. Nitro says you have to have C++ 32 bit version current for DC, but I am still hesitant about loading DC again. I really do NOT want to have to uninstall everything and reinstall all over again.

That aint no crashing of the Game, thats just part of the Game or?
If you find the whole thing boring, i offer to use a little imagination, or try to add material to EIC?

* Trying to save a game after I merged fleets
cannot help with that, never seen it...

* Canceling the movement of one boat to a different fleet
The game crashes when you cancel the movement from Fleet A to Fleret B? I have to find that "cancel movement" button yet...
-> why not let the movement happen, and move the ships right back once the movement is complete?

* Multiple times during battle mode
Cannot help with that either...

If we continue to do all of this troubleshooting, shouldn't we get paid? ...
What about a positive attitude? I can understand the frustration you feel, have seen wimilar things for some games... yet i fail to believe that there is genuine interest for the Game in the first place.
Because interested people point out solutions and stick with the game/devs/community to sort them out.
OR... sort them out themselves by modding the damn Game to death...

The way i see it, is this one.
This is my forst Ship related Game. Its Moddable. It represents a Sandbox we can all play in, and our imagination / the game engine is the limit.

BUT the price we pay are some irks and quirks in the Basic Game as is. No need to bash the Devs who use all their Intelligence to provide us with EIC. Thats just Low, even if we paid for it and are custromers and blah blah blah.
Have a constructive attitude, and you will get womewhere...

:)
