Wow, if the map doesn't change, I at elast hope the ledgers and toolbars will, because just seeing them makes me fall asleep out of boredom, I mean can't you add colour instead of the beigish-grey ?

Patience est mère de toutes les vertus...

Toolbars and ledgers are easy to change, and will thus be finalised later (this is no secret, it's always done this way in betas), especially since you can still betaplay the game.

I anyones book....that character's portrait is 'Diabolical', the nose (as pointed out) looks merely pasted on...i know it represents a family characteristic but at least do a good job with the idea, instead of bodging it (english term for make do/throw it together)!

So longbowmen will be a sub-catergory, along with the others i mentioned....interesting! Where did you here that! :)

As for some not being important enough to effect the grand strategy.....the introduction of the longbow (warbow as it was known then) had a marked effect on the hundred year war! crecy, poiters and agincourt!!!!

NO NO NO NO

I didn't say that longbows, crossbows and such were categories in the game, I said that 8 categories were enough to simulate the MA!!!! I have no friggin' idea if there will be subcategories in this game!!!!!!

EU2 had only 3 categories and it was an excellent game. Since we now have eight, why would it not be enough!!!

Duh? On the screenshots we clearly see that units have specific weapons and armor - so if your archers are from wales their weapon will be longbow - thus longbowmen, while archers from genoa will use crossbows and thus be .. crossbowmen?

Knights of an order will be the units you can raise from having control of an order. Billmen are pikemen with that weapon, foot knights are infantry with chainmail (or possibly plate). Spearmen are already in screenshot - look what pikemen are using.. etc etc :)

So the weapons/armour combos add or subtract from combat values....?

I know the combat system is base on scissors, paper, stone method...So sword beats spear.....bill beats sword......lance beats bill etc etc is that what you guys have heard?

I haven't heard that the engine that is supposed to make random faces is gone - so the nose probably is pasted on :)

But has a totally different color then the face. This engine really needs improvement. Get me into the beta and I will work at this :)

I don't see how its unreasonable for the nose to be slightly red in the picture. It really doesn't look all that bad, even if it is obvious that it was frankensteined together. Its likely the engine works by pasting the traits for eyes, nose, jaw, ears, et al. To me, the cartoon character still makes a plausible portrait, even if it is a bit rough around the edges.

I was getting paranoid that they'd based the portrait on me :(

Still if Charles V is anything to go by, lumps stuck together could be a reasonable portrait.

I lost track some time ago: is battle simulation rock, paper scissors, or my outflank using knights on an open field clobbers your immobile lump of spear.

A new one has been posted!;)
