I've put down a bunch of new large solar panels but they are not producing any energy at all, old ones that I put down when I first started my colony are working fine but the new ones are all connected up properly and it's the middle of the day but they are not producing any energy at all and now my colonists are starting to freeze to death.

Bug or am I missing something please?

I think it's a bug, I've just noticed that my old solar panels say they are producing energy even at night and some of the new ones have a symbol above their heads and a warning saying that they are out of range of a working drone commander even through they are literally a few feet away from a drone station -I think my game must have corrupted itself damn.

Thanks Blizzard I'll have a look at your link and make an official post.

Are you using the official solar panel mod that lower their output when shadowed ?

I encounter a bug with this mod, if I load a game at night they never produce power during day, and if I load a day save they produce power even during night.
So I removed the mod and posted a comment regarding this bug on Steam Workshop.

Ah yes I am, I have tried loading the save with all mods turned off but it makes no difference so maybe this mod has damaged my saves in so way so that the effect you're describing is permanant, unfortunately I no longer have any saves left from before I started using the mod so I can't go back and see if there was any issues before I switched it on.

Try this : save during day, then go back to the main menu and load it again to see if the mod bug in the other way : activate full power on every panels.
If it work, save again, go back to the main menu, disable the mod, it should restart the game, load your save, then check your panels. If they work and close themselves at night you should be good.

This mod is badly bugged, they should remove it from the Workshop until fixed :/

Just from this description I cannot really say whether it is a bug or you are missing something. If it is a bug, it is the first time we hear about it. I want to help, but I need more details. A screenshould would be helpful, a savegame - even more.

If you think it is a bug, here is a guideline to report it:

Afraid I can't give you further details, but I have certainly experienced a similar bug. Started a game then saved and closed before the rocket even landed. Loaded, landed it, set up a basic concrete extractor with wire and solar panels, and none of the solar panels I laid would produce any power.
