Any adult male in your court (who isn't war-wounded) can lead a regiment, so yes, the country cousins can. The court officers get first dibs, starting with the marshal, but after they're exhausted, it goes through the rest of the court.

But I fear it can't handle the 30+ odd MBs that my single save file has grown into. Blast those country cousins. I can't even fire up the tool to REMOVE them. I fear that unless Paradox gives us a more random arrival of country cousins we may have to 'trim' our save-games else you end up with literally THOUSANDS of useless courtiers that take up HD space and are just passed over (generally).

Until joben adds the prestige filter, I've used the following filters to sort out the cousins: fatherless, unmarried, no titles, all four primary stats less than 6, older than 30. This will still give you some other random courtiers who are fatherless, so sort the resulting list by dynasty. Any dynasty which has a long list of names likely has many random cousins in that list. Open up the score tab on the right and delete anyone with -50 prestige (it may take a while

Is it possible to add filters based on whether a character currently holds a court position (i.e. steward, marshal, etc)? I'm not sure where this data is stored.

Fixed a serious bug that had managed to sneak in with the new update.
The Court position is stored in the 'court' variable in the 'Character'
definition. if the variable doesn't exists the char is a courtier.

Just keeps getting better and better. You rule Joben. I'm thinking it might be because it's taking forever so the computer automatically assumes that the program's not responding or something. I guess I'll just have to soldier on with my army of country cousins unless I decide to start another game. I'm working on the English Mod now anyways so I may just leave my King of Georgia game for a while. I don't know if there's a way to send you my savefile, but I've been able to open all the other savefiles with the new updated CrusaderEd and that's good enough for me!
By the way, whats the sequence for taking out country cousins with the even newer Crusader Ed?

Using latest version - getting nothing but access violations whenever I try to sort the list using the filters. When I use anything but "all" on the prestige filter I get a violation as soon as I click 'ok', when using 'All' on prestige I get a violation once the list has sorted and appears.

I made a quickfix for now so it should work again. I'll take another look at it

Still has violation whenever prestige in filters is set to anything other than "all". When set to all it works ok though now.

Noticed something odd, nothing major just figured you might wanna know anyway.
Original file size: 25.6 MB
Removed all the country cousins and saved the file.
New file size: 28MB
Opened in game then immediatly resaved.
File size 21MB
Seems 7MB got squeezed in there somwhere Didnt seem to cause any problems with game loading though.

Slight feature request:
-when sorting for personalities, could we have more sorting possibilities? Like search for those with Stewardship AND intrugue above 7?
-could it possibly display characters ages, rather than just date of birth (thus forcing us to do math)?

On your first point BB you can do that, just click the 2 you want so they have the check in there box but leave the other ones blank. You can select more than one from the list.

It takes a while to list +10k characters.
The reason my saves are larger is that Paradox do a lot of
filesize optimizations.
E.g. all objects smaller than X characters are saved as a single line.

when I want change the chars name and gender the program shows me wrong pop-up lists... for names it shows a selection between male and female, and for gender the complete list of the cultures...
