The 2030 date was chosen mainly to have at least a half-credible story ending up with a war in the North Atlantic region.

It was also the only way the game could credibly include the F-35 :)

We'll go over the radar and missile systems once more before we finalize the game database for launch. We have very little time, and any changes we make now can greatly upset the balance in the missions and campaign; either making them too hard or too easy. Re-balancing missions takes a lot of time, and we simply have to close down the database in the near future even if not everything is perfect.

But don't worry, we'll keep working on improving everything beyond launch, and we'll get the missile loads on the ships right in the end :)
