High in the water, low in the water, even underwater - I'll take them, they look bloody marvellous. Thanks Be Bro.

Really? Underwater, too? Wow. YES - they look nice, IMO, and better than anything I've seen. That's not the point. My post is there to provide constructive feedback. Of course, I could just roll over and kiss his ass with flattery, but I imagine the stroking gets a bit old...

Thx, but I don't agree with you. Here's a pic of the akagi, and it does indeed go quite high above the water line:

http://www.tarrif.net/cgi/production/all_ships_adv.php?op=getships&pic_op=blueprint&shipsX=134

As you see, the hull plus flattop is ca. twice as high above the water than below.

For proportions, best to look at a picture of a carrier next to a battleship or at least a carrier in the water; but, yes, it obviously rests higher. I agree with that. Although, looking at the sprite compared to a picture of the carrier in the water, for example: http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/sh-fornv/japan/japsh-a/akagi2.htm makes me think they are off - just a tad high. However, I could be mistaken.

Re proportions - that pic with Akagi and Kongo is a bit tricky, the carrier is a bit more in the background while the Kongo is closer to the cam (you see it when comparing the water lines, esp. if you look at the bigger version of the pic), if the Akagi were on the same distance it would appear even bigger than now (where it's flight deck is already higher than the main hull minus superstructure of the Kongo). It's hard to say how much of a difference it would make though, but to see the exact proportions both ships would have to be in a similar distance to the cam.

On the other hand, the sophisticated *drool* posts do add a certain charm - a slimy and somewhat mindless charm, but a charm none the less (ooo - where's my kleenex?)

Wow, did I ask for that or was it a purely gratuitous insult?

More to the point, did I attack or attempt to limit your criticism - constructive or otherwise - in any manner? Or did I merely register my satisfaction with the original work and my gratitude for the effort and talent expended on it?

Am I being defensive and self-righteous here, or is that you?

Good point. I thought about that, too. Best for your purposes would be a photo at a similar angle of perspective to that of the sprite's positioning. Never the less, even if a tad high, it's class. Thx.

The sprites are perfekt as they are! :)
Carriers were, and still are so high above the waterline...
No Problem with that....

Just a little progress report, I'm working on the last CV now (an Italian Aquila class CV) and hope to be ready to release all CV sprites at some point during the next week. :)

Your work is simply outstanding and much appreciated! Thanks so much BeBro!!

Yup, on the previous page there's a little preview pic of those CVs incl. the GZ on the left, but without the Aquila I'm still working on :)
