Michael Savage the prime minister of New Zealand had woken up with a headache. He had been having a strange dream. It was written that the sun never set on the British Empire. He was staying an a cabin somewhere in the New Zealand high country. His dream indicated a New Zealand Empire rising from the ashes of the world and establishing a new world order. Could be tough, right now the realm of New Zealand consisted of around 2 million loyal colonials located in the South Pacific, along with several million sheep. To the west was located a overly large continent full of Kangaroos and a species known as "Aussies".

His loyal bodyguard of South Canterbury farmers parted and General Freyberg marched into the room. He had been busy lately.

"Morning Savage what can I do for you". Not one to waste words Freyburg sat down. "What is the state of the New Zealand army at this point in time"? Savage enquired. "As you know the army fought well at Galipoli in the Great War" Freyberg replied. Unfortionatey they seem to be using the same weapons as well". Pausing slightly Freyburg continued. "If we were advancing on Berlin in 1918 I would say we would be well equipped, the men are well trained but due to defence budget cuts all of our divisons are currently understrength". Savage looked slightly peeved at the news. Freyberg continued. "Even worse a mere 16000 reserves are available". "Even if resources were made available it is doubtfull we would have enough replacements to bring the army up to full strength". Handing over a piece of paper it gave a breakdown of the armed forces.

4 understrength infantry divisons (1918 equipment)
3 understrength cavalry divisions (1918 equipment)
5 transport flotillas.

Outside a sheep gave its opinon on the armed forces- baaa.

Looking grim Savage handed over a piece of paper. It had written on it. The editor of the Otago Daily Times has been critical of goverment policy. Deal with him (+1 authortarian). The great adventure was about to begin.......

Full IC takeover on
Tech team capture on

Give me a break its New Zealand m'kay.

I would need to cheat on the manpower to do a WC. I'll settle for a good chunk of it. Tech teams and IC can be captured but as an island nation with low MP already I'm screwed on the manpower.

A year had passed and an increasingly autocratic Michael Savage had become dictator of New Zealand. A minor political scandel in 36 had allowed him to cancel elections on the 1st of January 1937. Numerous trades had been done with the USA, Soviet Union and Belgium and Netherlands. Relations between New Zealanbd and the USA were excellent. All 7 divisons of the New Zealand army were ready and the infantry had been upgraded. An additional flotilla of transports had also been constructed.

On Dec the 1st 46 the New Zealand navy had left port, destination unknown. Freyberg went with them as he had secret orders from Savage who at the time was still an elected official. Arriving in port on the 21st Dec, they rested a few days before seting sail on the 27th.

1937 roled around ad back home Savage seized power in a bloodless coup. The New Zealand Labour party was now the only party permitted in town. The colonial troops were ready for glory. The New Zealand empire was born as the bullets started flying. Venezuela was doomed.....

Once the boys under Freyberg had seized a port, reinforcements were rushed in. Rembarking they sailed further down the coast for another amphibious assault, support by the 1st NZ Cavalry. Caracas fell.

Having little choice the results were obvious. New Zealands oil reserves explode, while Venezuelan scientists are rounded up, ready to toil for the glory of the Kiwi empire.

the Savage Sheep is on rampage again, it seems

This is quick! Within a day of intro and update, a nation is dead! :)

I cannot lie. I had been practicing the start alot:)Turns out I screwed up and deleted by screen shots of the next campaigns before I uploaded them:(. My apologies for the following.

The rest of 1937 resulted in a quick blitz through South America. The 1st NZ Cavalry divisions was excellent in the rough terrain. Columbia was the first volunteer to join the empire when the NZ army marauded out of the former Venezuela. A quick thrust towards Colombo and it was all over. A similar strategy was then utilised owards Ecudor. Neither nation could resist the Kiwi blitz. The South Africans were only to happy to help out with some garrison troops.

A few months of R&R followed. Once again the New Zealand forces embarked upon transports destination unknown. The luck of the Irish wasn't with them.

ScreenSave1-17.jpg

All hail the might sheep. No more would the New Zealanders be the butt of sheep jokes throughout the British Empire. Captured scientists are only to happy to work for the Kiwis in return for all the mutton, lamb and cocaine they can consume.

By mid 39 it seemed clear war clouds were gathering in Europe......

NZ instead of exporting milk powder is exporting far-flung world colonization! Even right in europe backyard :D
I think you needs lots of convoy to supply your territories.

Kaisermuffin: In most games the USA will DoW the Allies if you take more than 3 countries in South America They will have to wait until USA joins the Allies in 41/42.Even with full IC capture on NZ still doesn't have the MP to slug it out with anyone. Hell I have built 1 militia unit, 1 transport, 3 destroyers and convoys since 1936 and only have 40 odd MP in reserve.

Eversor: Sorry secret government location. Heres where I got the photo from though.

The peaceful nation of New Zealand was enjoying a nice spring day when dreadful news came in from Europe.

ScreenSave6-3.jpg

Evil Nazi Germany had invaded the peace loving nation of Poland. The population awaited on Englands response. Where mother England would go New Zealand would follow. A few hours later.

ScreenSave7-4.jpg

The mighty Empire of New Zealand was at war with the German Reich. A home guard unit was in Ireland training with a few Canadian divisons who seemed to be guarding the Irish beaches from any aggression. The main army under Freyberg was in Venezuela enjoying the sun. The mighty Royal New Zealand Airforce (RNZAF)took to the skies over Germany, flying at night bombing railways, roads and enemy infrastructure. Should German Panzers come east their advance would be slowed.

ScreenSave8-3.jpg

On the home front the economy mobilised for war. Thousands of recruits were being trained as marines. Freybuerg was assigned as commander of the Canadian and South African Forces. The army in Venezuela was awaiting a homeguard divison to relieve them so they could depart for the middle east.

In late 1939 the New Zealand army eaves Venezuela. After a long sea voyage they arrive at their destination.

ScreenSave15-6.jpg

A few months later the Germans in a surprise move declear war onthe lowlands.

ScreenSave16-5.jpg

They outflank the Maginot line (never saw that coming) and advance on Paris. The RNZAF is withdrawn to England after suffering heavy losses in the skies over France.
