England, Eng-land, England, etc

This era was marked by the first Franco-British war for 200 years and to many it could not have come sooner. An alliance was put togther of states surrounding france and who were afraid of the might that France may wield in the next 50 years. Portugal, Spain and Britain declared war on the evil, grasping french and war broke out in every corner of the world as English and squadrons systematically destroyed french colonial fleets and in nearly all theatres the alliance had put the french to flight. Canada had no French armies left and all the inland french territories had fallen to the american forces. Argentina was under heavy assualt from Brazil and chile and fell soon after. In Africa victories were nearly all that was heard although the french army in South Africa had held out and the British Indian squadron had set sail to lend aid if required, however this was not necessary and the fleet only needed to destroy the french fleet that tried to escape the fall of the city.
However in France itself no great inroads had been made, Spaiin was still fighting france in the Pyrnees and intial Spanish assualts into Savoy had been beaten back with heavy casulties and the orignal borders were now the front lines.
A British amphibious attack was mounted on the beaches of Morhiban but was abandoned when a superior French army marched upon our already demoralised army that had just failed to take the fort. The retreat was done with no casulties and the army made its way safely home to Cornwall. The war fluctuated along the Pyrnees and Britain was about to make an offensive into Calais when the messenger arrived from France with acceptance of the alliances terms. This transferred the industrial area of hochlega to Britain and paved the way for the Canadain purchase that had France relinquish its entire inland holdings in America for 1000 ducats.

In interior matters the technology level of our army increased by almost double and now is able to fight a war against another power on land as well as sea. Our trade is now 2nd in the world and we are raking in the money after the British economy has more than doubled in the past 50 years. We are now one of the richest nations in the world and culturally we are the envy of the world. A true english gentleman is now a common compliment of someone who does the right thing, we can only hope that Britain continues on its path of righteuosness into the future.

Commander in Chief, General Hung Li, studied the map.

To the north and the east, until the sun set down, all he saw was Chinese lands and waters, with the exception of some minor Brittish colonies. To the south, he saw the loyal vassals of the Emperor.

To the west and to the southwest, he saw the lands of the Shah. The Shah, now called "the oppressor of Buddists". Hung Li didn´t care for the Buddists. But as a loyal soldier in his Emperors army, he was prepared to fight whoever the Emperor told him to. It was his destiny to die on a battlefield.

A war against Persia was going to be hard, he thought to himself. He was not that worried about the Persian armies, and now he smiled, in the last war he didn´t lose a battle or failed a siege. No, it was the terrain that worried him. Jungle and mountains, rivers and alps. He had to plan this campain carefully.

If only he just could stop thinking about where the Emperor planned to send him and his men after that. What a manouver and what a glory! And suddenly he started to laugh.

From the memoirs of the mysterious military genius known only as "Dr Bob's Baby"

Before the War...
We have prepared for two years and we have even had a stroke of good luck to go with it-the enemies France have decided to attack Austria splitting their forces and allowing an even greater chance of victory for the Spanish and British forces. The messengers say that the elaborately phrased declaration of war is already in the post, just like that pay check I was promised 3 months ago... hmm when is that arriving?

Early in the War...
Well that was a mixed beginning to the war, in the colonies that brilliant conquistador Clive (OOC: 6-7-7 stats :p ) has started his expeditions to all the french colonies with his Indian army and success has been reported in all areas, Madagascar has fallen and he is presently en route to Canada to take the icy wastelansd up there.
However the war will be decided in Europe and success has not been the only thing we have experienced. I led an army to try to take the port city of Morhiban and force the technologically backward french fleet into a combat they could not win, however the assualt was a surprising failure and we had to retreat back to the fleet to avoid the onrushing french forces.
Calais was also assualted with more success but it did not fall to the first assualt and the army there had to fall back to Calais.
However the second assualt on Morhiban was a much greater success as I led the troops through the city personally and inspired them to great deeds. This forced the french fleet into a suicide attack on my fleet with predictable results, 20 enemy warships sunk for no losses for the english fleet as the French fleet ran away while we got onto the victorious royal navy and sailed for home and the next stage of the war

Middle of the War...
The other theatres and countries were mostly evenly balanced, Clive had taken nearly all of the french territories but a declaration of war from persia had him now trying to circle the globe again to get back to the endangered indonesian territories, Austria had made in roads to Istanbul but a Russian attack had forced him to try to defend 2 fronts and eastern europe was now in a bloody war of attrition. Small gains had been made by Spain in the Pyrnees and in Piedmonte and Spanish forces were advancing to the Rhone.
In Britain I had led another amphibious assualt on Northern france and Normandie and Caux had fallen along with Calais eventually. However careful manourvering was required to evacuate any troops to the sea before a sizable french army got into the area. Normandy changed hands twice more and then I led an attack into Caux and Orleans and Paris itseld although the army had marched to far by then and the attack was a failure and led to an ignomoius march to the sea-again.

The Late War...
Things were collapsing in Austria, the combined russian-ottoman-chinese assualt was taking its toll and austria was on the verge of collapse, an evil looking barbarian even looted Vienna itself. Eventually austria accepted peace for the Chinese control of Serbia and bosnia and a huge russian annexation of poland and north germany. France was now on the verge of collapse and I saw a golden oppurtunity, a french army had set up camp in the woods of Normandy, using the night as cover the fleet sailed into the captured harbour and unloaded my army onto it. We placed the cannon around the french camp and by morning the French were totally encircled, a call went up for a french surrender but it was ignored. Needless to say it was a massacre, the entire french army of 70,000 men was dead or captured with the loss of 10,000 of our men with minor injuries (sprained ankles or a touch of sea-sickness). This was quickly followed up with the capture of brittany and a spanish offensive into dauphane and provence we delivered an ultimatum to the King of France that demands Calais, Piedemonte and Ungava (a colony in canada reknowed for its modern art). With his army dead or fleeing and rebels controlling the inland of France King Louis had no choice but to accept and Calais was British once more as it should have been throughout the ages apart from the madness of a king 200 years ago...

Pictures from Hung Li´s first European campain, "The long march", 1762 - 1769.

After Hung Li had liberated the Buddist in the Far East, he was sent to Europa. In 1762, he landed in Egypt and in january 1763 he crushed the Austrian troops in Delta (note that the Chinese troops still fights without riffles....)

After Egypt was liberated, Hung Li contiuned his long march to the Balkan lands. And in november 1764, Chinese troops crossed the border to Austrian lands.

A year after that, the first big battle with Austrian troops toke place in mountians around Ragusa. Notice here the different tactics, China uses infantry, Austria cavarly. China and the Ottoman Empire won the battle.

battleinragusa5vb.jpg

Soon Dalmatia was in Chinas control. Together with Ottoman troops, a trap was set in Croatia.

croatia13tp.jpg

In August 1766, Hung Li´s army was almost destroy in the second battle of Dalmatia. But Chinese superior morale let them win the battle. After this battle, Hung Li withdraw to reinforce with new troops.

dalmatia28vi.jpg

In 1767, the brave Austrian had once again pushed back the Chinese and Ottoman troops (Dalmatia is once again in Austrian control). In june, a battle took place in Bosnia. The Austrian army was almost destroyed.

bosnia29xh.jpg

During 1768, a lot of battles took place. In 1769, Chinese and Ottoman armies had regrouped and during february a new attack on Austria was made.

croatia23ga.jpg

Signs of the Russian attack on Austria could now be seen on the Balkan front as the Austrians seemed out of reinforces. In the west, Spain and England had won thier war against France. Rumours says that English troops, using a clever tactic, destroyed a hugh France army by surprice and that the English flag now flows over Calais. Spainish troops now hurried to the Balkan front. The race for Vienna was on (notice that China now controls Bosnia, Dalamatia, Odenburg and soon Croatia, and that the chinese troops have started to siege Vienna).

vienna15kr.jpg

In november 1769, Hung Li reached Vienna and the assualt could begun.

vienna23co.jpg

Austrian and Spanish troops tried to stopp the assult, but they failed and was, after this painting was made, beaten.

After the fall of Vienna, Austria was ready for peace. The Emperor gained two loyal vassals in Europe.

Spanish Aar

In the 35th year of our Empress' glorious rule, a second war was declared on Zimbabwe. Many good men died in the deserts of Africa, outside the walls of the Swedish-built fortress. Wave after wave of assaults hit the fort like tidal wawes, breaking every time. There was only one way to take the city: starve the defenders. As the army was decimated every month by attrition, new recruits were constantly arriving from the nearby colonies. According to the ministry of War's calculations, more than 40 thousand good men died before the sunni swedes were annexed to our glorious kingdom.

In 1776, the arch-enemy, the sultan, found himself once again facing the might of the Spanish armies, as war has been declared to help our Austrian brothers in the HRE. Ventura Caro, one of our generals, boarded the ships in Rousilon heading for Genoa, from where he went to Veneto, linking with the new army of recruits. The 70 thousand new men army had also 120 cannons, so Caro charged to liberate the Austrian province of Dalmatia from the evil yellow-faced demons of China. But, as history taught us, haste is not a good war tactic. The supply lines traced through istria could not allow food and ammunition to be shipped in large quantities to the army. Five thousand people died of hunger and attrition in our own teritory! The public opinion was appaled, Ventura Caro was called the worst general since Francisco de Melo, who lost Bearn and Rousillon to the French.

Caro's army met a more experienced Chinese general with a veteran army in Dalmatia. The Spanish general's "battle skills" ensured a complete anihilation of our forces, a whole generation of northeastern Italians.

Admiral Cordoba was the second best Spanish admiral of all times, as nobody could surpass the glory of the mighty Alvaro de Bazan, the winner of Lepanto. Leading his warfleet of 170 ships, he sailed from sicily to Venezia, in order to blockade the straits against a possible chinese or Ottoman invasion. Just as Cordoba arrived in the lagoon, Dalmatia fell to the Chinese. An ottoman fleet attacked, roughly twice Cordoba's fleet. It seemed the fleet woulf be lost, as well as the city of Venice. But Cordoba's abilities as admiral made the Turks lose 101 ships, while Spain only lost 3 galleys in this battle. The Ottomans were chased to Ragusa, where they closed themselves in port. The protection of the lagoon was trusted to a commodore with 3 warships, enough to keep the Chinese at bay.

Our spieinformed the Emperor of some 400 thousand army in Southern France, outside the Spanish line of sight. Armies were quickly raised in Madrid and Zaragoza, as well as Veneto. The minimal fortress in istria was upgraded to a medium one, and a large army was stationed there, afte taking it back from the evil chinese.

In 1780, the Holy roman EMperor accepted peace with the heathens , losing three provinces, as he noticed a strange French troop buildup too. Jose's reign started in 1780, and already the next year France declared war on our Austrian allies, forcing Spain to join the war. A long and bloody war started, but the superior Spanish armies led by Fernando Galvez raided the French countryside, talking city after city, and so Gascogne, Piemonte, Provence, Languedoc fell to the power unleashed by Spain. Corsica was the last italian land liberated by the Emperor's armies, and in a peace treaty in CEvennes the French king accepted to the Spanish peace terms: Gascogne and Corsica.

However, the French lawyers tricked the spanish ambassador. Peace was signed with the whole alliance and not with Spain alone. It was a dirty trick, and Jose , as soon as he heard the terribel news, declared war again, breaking the truce we had with France. England and Austria pillaged northern France, and the French king had no choice but give in to their demands.

The next years chief judges were promoted throughout America and new reforms were made to give citizenship to the colonists. For yet another time, new things arrived from America, and even the Emperor himself joined in the trend, getting a rather unusual pet, a large capybara.

When Hung Li and D.Emon walked upon earth.

During the second war between the Ottoman Empire and China vs. Spain and Austria, Hung Li - now together with his young apprentice, D.Emon - once again showed Chinas enemies the skill and fighting spirit of the chinese warriors. Soon after this painting was made, the Spannish army was annihilated.

The result of the war was not what the allies had hope for... Due to some mistake by a Chinese diplomat - may he rest in peace - the maps of the Balkans was once more a little bit complicated...

The return of the Nab

Nabukodonosors lich, in fact Nabukodonosor himself walked through the corridors of his dungeon under the Moscowy. He juct came back from vacations in the other world. Survokov waited at the entrance of the main chamber. Situation was horrible. More than that. Royal coffers were empty, armies beaten and war almost lost. Nabukodonosor knew that Russia wasn't left without divine guidance and moreover he knew what sort of divine intervetion was here. Mighty EU God Zeist was here. What could a minor panthenon power like Nakukodonosor do in a situation where Zeit barely survived??? Sweden had critical adventage in technology and Russia was in a war with almost half world! Moreover one dangerous and agressive entity from panthenon was returning to Sweden and the one that preceeded him was one of the best there is!!! If anyone else was in Sweden Nabukodonosor would sign peace immidiately but with signature on that document ticking of 5y death clock would start! The best thing all could hope was that moment of peace would be prolonged. Existance of free Russia was in stake. Dangerous Jamala was few hundred miles of our capitol and any hope of retrieving lost territory later was almost a dream. Or a nighmare. Remainders of once proud and numerous Russian army gathered and fled in the depths of their wast empire for regrouping. massive mobilisation was on its way but enemy was advancing through weakened Russia burning and looting all in their way. Ottomans joined the war in near past and pressure on western frontier was weakened. War dragged on and on. Nabukodonosor worried that underworld would become crowded. Sweden fought like all lions of the world together but they never really understood the quantity of reserves Russia possesed. The rest is history and would be used in many military academies to create new generations of heroes. That history would talk about one of the greatest generals world has seen. Survokov stood like a EU God in the end of conflict and Tzar found out that never ever so many people owed so much to one man as in recent Russian history.

...it seems this is the end my friends...

...never have Russians witnessed such blodshed and in few last years before cataslism of the bit history...
