So I don't know if this is a known problem or not. Basically I started in 6 AC (8006) playing as Harlaw. However in 14 AC Harras Hoare (the Hoare at the Night's Watch) died. He was Lord Commander (I don't know if he started that way) and Vickon Greyjoy (the Lord Paramount) inherited the Night's Watch, destroying it.
