Yes, and the fact it allows someone to 'spectate' the behaviours of the various AI nations around the world without becoming involved.

A small update: Work on the provinces.csv is taking longer then expected. This is a necessary file that I cannot upload without :(
We had someone do the resources and MP redistribution, so I am just getting the IC, forts, ect. done with.
So when I finally get this file done, I'll upload the mod for you all :)

Edit: I think this will be pushed to Monday/Tuesday. Just realized that no countries have any air OOBs. Pretty big mistake to have almost uploaded without!

As for IC distributions, that is complete and looks all good. I am not sure there is much else after that.

The Public Alpha is ready! But I cannot seem to upload it yet. Once it is successfully uploaded I'll post an official news post.

Speaking of which, I'll upload what I have tomorrow at some point.

Hooray!

Will the AAR be moving on as well or are you still working mostly on the mod (I want to find out what happens to Britain in this timeline...;)

God this is stupid. What turned from a 8h trip turned into a 14h trip getting my sister's car from a dealer across the province. I was going to have it uploaded today, but it is pushed to tomorrow now that I have a bug to fix.

Doesn't it just seem like one thing after the other keeps delaying this? It truly is frustrating for me, I want to get it out to you guys!

Everything is back in working order and am waiting for ModDB to get my file uploaded!

Only to wait now...

17 minutes and counting!
12 minutes....
8 minutes....
5 minutes....
Done! ModDB has to Authorize it there, so in the meantime I'll give you guys an upload on media fire as an alternate mirror.

(Snip from my release on ModDB)

We at Team '64 welcome you to the first Public Alpha of the mod 1964 for Arsenal of Democracy. After hundreds of hours of hair-pulling coding, colorful graphical editing, researched and testing, the game is finally in a state where we can say it is 'playable'. For the most part, the game should run until atleast 1970 and work as expected.

In this release, the following is included:

* Starting scenario: January 1st, 1964, with starting Order of Battles (OOB)
* New resource, manpower, and industry redistribution
* Starting ministers and their respective pictures for: Germany, USA, Canada, Britain, United Netherlands, Soviet Union
* New Brigade Types: HQ Supply, Mechanized Brigade, Motorized Brigade
* New Tech Teams: Germany, USA, United Netherlands, Canada, United Kingdom
* New Technology Trees: Infantry, Armor, Industrial, Land Doctrines [ Secret Weapons, Navy, and Aircraft are WIP, and not complete ]
* Land Unit Divisions and models, 1945 to 2000s. For example, infantry has 21 models. Stats only adjusted to 1970 at the moment.
* Special Forces Division (replacing marine, para, and mountaineer), paralleling infantry models
* New custom skins for 24 countries
* Custom Illustrations for most US, German, and Soviet divisions
* Lelouch's custom unit pictures (similar to SKIFF) for several divisions

Please be patient with the mod, it is out first release and I have no idea how it will perform on everyone's computers. We have a Alpha forum setup for you to visit and report issues, or discuss the mod, located here: 1964 Alpha Discussion and Reporting

I'll give you a heads up. Selecting the individual carrier in a naval grouping to see its stats causes a CTD. I am not sure why at the moment, but I spent quite some time trying to find the issue.
Note: The mod has only been tested on Vanilla Arsenal of Democracy. I have no idea if it will work on other versions.

Enjoy!

Feuersturm,
Team '64

I also invite anyone who wants to to create a Cold-War scenario for the mod to do so. The tech tree is unlikely to change drastically for the most part, so if someone wants to create a historical CW scenario then I'd be glad to throw it in.

It is still an Alpha like you said, and not a beta yet :)

I wanted to get the general concept out there so that people can give us some pointers on which direction to take things.

If you guys have comments / bug reports, please put them >>HERE<<. I am looking forward to such comments and am ready to hit any bugs I have missed with a giant fly swatter of code! Improvement suggestions will also be taken there.

I should note to discourage people from playing Germany in this release, as the primary focus in testing OOBs were the Soviet and Americans.

I might also see if I can talk the Mods to letting me have my own sub section or something of the sorts. I'll change the forums to allow guests to post.

Nice work, I'm glad you finally managed to upload the alpha. I'm checking it out now, when I'm done I'll give you some feedback :)

Awesome. Input, good or bad, is always constructive in improving the mod. I can only test so much on my own :)

I am shocked, that despite this being an Alpha version, We've had over 300 downloads to date. Thanks guys!

No problemo :D

Anyway, here's my input:

-Soviet Union is too big. I recommend to script India, Pakistan, Burma and China as Soviet puppets and part of the Comintern. Ok, China shouldn't be a puppet but a major ally.
-almost every nation has the Afghan ministers in its starting cabinet, but you probably noticed that :)
-Tannu Tuva should be part of the Soviet Union. I know that things might have went differently in your AAR but IMO it's pointless to have such an insignificant nation just sitting there.
-Kennedy shouldn't be the US President, in an alternate timeline the US elections would have gone in a more different direction.
-maybe introducing the Arab Federation into the game would be a good idea? I suppose that the Third Reich would view pan-Arabism with sympathies so this seems plausible to me.
-Indonesia could be in, too.

That's it for now, I might come up with some new ideas later :)

The whole point of the Soviet Union in 1964 is that it has the vast reserves of manpower and land from Asia - and that this can potentially result in a destabilised country that breaks up, a huge and powerful union, or a de-centralised state.
