Hi all.

I've got a quite fustrating problem. I got this game a few days ago with a few friends and now we're trying to play MP.

We tried playing first through the internet option were you enter the ip and later we tried valkyrie. Both times my two friends seem to be able to join eachother with no trouble at all. Obviously the problem lies with my computer and not theirs. When i try to connect to them and when they try to connect to me we get a message that says that there is no game goin on. Otherwise valkyrie works perfectly in that I can join and chat in the channels.

The others have no firewalls or routers. I do but i have forwarded the ports mensioned in other treads but it seems not to help.

We all have the same copy of the game and all have the 1.09 patch so that should not be the problem.

I have Norton Antivirus 2005 with their wormprotecting instead of windows firewall as do one of my friends, it doesn't stop him and turning it off doesn't seem to help me either so I've ruled it out. I also added EU2 to list of programs that should be allowed.

My router is a DLINK 604. I have set my computer to be a DMZ. And added EU2 with ports to not be blocked. Still no improvement.

Anyone? Have I missed something that might be the problem? Is the answer out there laughing behind my back?

Thanks in advance. PlazaPalm

Full message reads as follows:

No game host found at IP ####### Please check the address and Internet connection and try again.

I can see the game in valkyrie but that message is all I get when I try to join.

Also, what is the difference between public and private ports? And should I even have to forward the ports when I run my computer as a DMZ?

Anyone? Please, you're my only hope. :(

That error does mean your router doesn't forward the correct port and/or a firewall still blocks a port in the range of 2300-2400.

your firewall needs to have open the ports 2300-2400 and 47624, while your router only needs to forward port 2300 and 47624 to your computer IP (it needs to be static).

Which one did you forward with your router? 2300 and 47624? And has your computer a static IP address? Only setting your IP as DMZ doesn't solve the problem always.

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm has tutorials how to forward ports.

If you forwarded your ports (was the problem with me) correctly and turned off the worm protection from norton (was a problem i had before i had a router) I dont know :(

Sorry

I finally found out how to fix this problem. Thanks to you partially, really appreciate it.

If you have a DI-604 router just log in, click Advanced, click Application, click the pen and paper icon next to MSN Gaming Zone, click the Enable dot and then click Apply.

If you try to forward the ports without removing this Application rule or using it specifically, it seems it starts a conflict which keeps those ports closed.

It seems that one computer in our house have to have fixed ip but the other one still work with dynamic. If you try enabling the MSN Gaming Zone application rule and it still don't work, try fixed ip.

Hope this might help anyone else. And thanks guys for helping out.
