I'm planning a solo campaign where I'll play without these two drives. I'm wondering how many drive types are in the game (bio drives, jump versions, and hyperlines, out of limits for fauna fleets). I know that gates, for example, require an FTL drive on the ship for some reason. I plan to ignore these requirements and will eventually have an FTL component in the fleet, but without using lines or jumps.

I'll use Fruit Origin for a few colonies, then build gates. In mid-game, I'll try to acquire the Shroud tunnel tech and conquer all systems with access to these tunnels. Of course, I'll try to acquire a catapult if I can capture a system where I can build one, and as many systems with natural tunnels as possible (set them to 0.5-1). It would be nice to have an L gate for several systems connected this way... I'm wondering if there's anything else that will allow me to capture systems? And I won't be using allies and vassals to capture systems anyway. Maybe to fight, but I won't make claims if I can't send a fleet. Also, in the case of the catapult, the fleets I send will be stuck in their location until I capture the territory and build a gate, so bye-bye, everything landing in ally's space.

I have all the DLC except the new bio one.

If you don’t have hyperdrive or jump drives I don’t think it will be possible for you to expand outside of a handful of systems via picking specific origins.

Probably your best bet would be to use the starlit citadel origin since you will have a wormhole in your home system that connects you to several others (it is in the DLC you don’t have though). All other origins that give you a potential way out your home system without hyper- or jump drives will only lead to one system, that possibly will be owned by someone else.

For fruitful partnership as far as I remember you still have to build an outpost in the systems your seeds land in to own them.

well no you dont build outpost, that would make it a trash, is not good origin becuse it have just so few perks but it is a origin that still do something... it just cost 3k to start colony but it build outpost, so i get why they give cost becuse you know 200 allyos 200 food and goods and cost of outpost, but liek 1k would be nice becuse it not a perk you cna change but orgin that stick for good... still it will give me like 2-5 planets so 2-4 systems on 0,25 worlds and x2 pre ftl... and max empires becuse i like star wars/trek vibe of we have 1 world and few system like most of us... ah and that is empire that take over 20% galaxy and there like 3 of them XD

but i could kinda make more pre ftl becuse how many spawn near space age, and just few space age empires so my animals get more time ... but ye it gona be hard, alos origin of the catapult would be fine if not it span near your not in your system

alos for taking systems in war, in mid game many ai open they gates, so i could use cloaking to move to eche gate they have and than attack, but im not sure do you can use gates of empires that they closed the borders, I know you can't do it normally , but maybe when you're invisible it would pass

it would be hard but i never liked to have more than like 20 systems on 800 stars and i go for 600 this time so limited space would not be that big of a problem ...

welp i hope someone else find other way becuse as not big problem working on few system is it still one, and fighting cirisis would be hilarius XD. i dont even see how i would be able do it if i dont get system where i can build catapult.

When I paid energy to grow pops to take over a planet in an unowned system, I got a free Outpost.

That was back in 3.14 but I don't remember seeing anything about that changing in 4.0

still, it just cost litle to much, like sure 3k for panet and outpost on the other side of galaxsy but literaly world near me and the same price -_-

but yey i get arledy 6 sysyems from fruit, meyby get 2 more becuse my first ally die when they planet blow up and leave big hole in galaxsy... that have few planets -_- i dont know why they dotn take them but oh well, alos shround wormhole give me one more system becuse i connect my capitol and they system and take over it previus owner, it pretty empty but i need like 9-15 systems for all megestructures and some habbitats
