Just curious. In my Avar game, I swore fealty to the Byz Empire, in the hope of converting from Tengri to Chalcedonian (?). I seem to remember an intrigue decision where I can change my character's religion to my liege's in vanilla CK2. Was this removed in CK2+?

The event is still there. However, in both vanilla and ck2+ you can only convert to your lieges religion if it is within the same religious group.
