no multiplayer with 1.06 fr

I have a french version of EU2. I've started from scratch: erase then install again, then install 1.06. Everything worked fine.
I am able to play the game (single player).
When I try to play multi, I can connect to valkyrie.net join a game but I can t select a country (not downloading the game).
Some people said that my version is incompatible. how can that be ?

On the other hand I can host (tried it a few times)

I play with the French version as well and we never had any problem in MP, except once when the host was playing with the Scandinavian version. I think it's better if you can host the game and try to play with people with the same version (but not necessarily).
 
I think it has to do with your scenario being in French "La Grande Campagne" (spelling?) while the host's scenario is in another language.

I think the game should autotransfer it though.
 
It is strange though that the problem only occur when the host as a different version from the French one (which is quite frequent :p)

When I hosted with my French version people with other versions never got the problem.
 
Well if It won't work out, just download an NA version ISO and play online with that one... (frenchmen DO know english right?) I mean, you've bought the game anyway.. No use to wait around for a patch to play online...
 
Are there really that many files that are different? I mean just text.csv, the events, and the scenarios... How fast is your internet connection? If you have ICQ I am willing to send you the NA files.
