I've tried to see where we recommend to install or update DivX or DivX Plus but I'm not finding it here. Can you point me to where you read that here please? Thank you.

I gave you a list of codec ID and repair tools, k-lite (which others have used successfully here) is the only actual codec (or more correctly, codec pack) I've given you to install. I am still certain you have a codec issue. Now I'm no PC expert - I personally use Linux and Macs - but I'll try to talk you through what to do as best I can.

So first I ran the MediInfo tool I posted a link to, which identifies the Rome .mp3 files as straight MPEG Audio files. So far so good. Then I ran DXMan and it listed my installed MPEG Audio Decoder as quartz.dll and my MPEG Layer-3 Decoder as l3codecx.ax . InstalledCodec showed the same. What do those tools show that you have as codecs for your Audio MPEG files?

Hi

It's fixed now. Thank you. I went into K-Lite and had to play around with it. In the end what I did was disabled all the codecs listed here: http://img826.imageshack.us/f/disabledcodecs.jpg/

And it worked. That means that one of those must've been interfering with the game.

See the problem is that you didn't tell me what to do with a program like K-Lite. How was I supposed to know I was supposed to do this?

But thanks anyway! :)

I didn't know that either, all I've ever had to tell folks previously is to install it, and they've reported back that it helped, without mention of what exactly they had to do. My guess is your problem was unique.
