I just noticed that there are no negative events for engaging in Pope-slaying.

But shouldn't there be some? Like where killing the Pope causes God to strike you down and kill you? Or where being caught trying to kill the Pope but failing leads to a high chance that members of your own court assassinate you? It could add flavor plus it seems rather odd that nothing out of the ordinary happens when you engage in a bit of Papacide.

Well, this really assumes that God IS real and that he really does consider Roman Catholicism the one true faith, something a lot of people might take issue with (Why not have this for all priests, or the patriarchate, or heck, Islam is an Abrahamic faith too...). And what about the 'ruling by divine right' that most Christian kings presumably claimed at the time? Should regicide or even rebellion cause this too?... Anyway, even from a theological point of view, there is such a thing as free will, which is a convenient explanation on why God doesn't intervene all the time.

Well, if you're caught, I guess you could get more BB or something, but what would be best (I think) if you had a high chance of excommunication if discovered (at least if you failed, if it succeeded, the new Pope might declare the old one corrupt or hush up the whole thing).

Well there are already some events where God punishes you if you act evil, so I don't see the problem with him punishing you for messing with the Pope. I just recommended that because it sounds kind of funny, having you character be killed by God if you assassinate the Pope. Anyway, there should be some events for this even if not religious.
