My friend is having issues running the game, he has a non-avx CPU. Is there any way for him to run the game at this moment? I remember this was an issue with CK3 but was later addressed in a patch??

The need for AVX support was unintentional in CK3 so was patched out. This game has had that requirement in it's published minimums from the start, so I'm certain it will not be changed.
