I think it's rather annoying that only christians can go through other's demense without being at war with them. Going past the fact that it's rather intolerant of PI to do that, it's very bad in gameplay reasoning. For example, I'm playing Tripoli right now, and I see a independent sheikhdom that's not at war with anyone. If I could get it, I could get a new title. However, I can't, as the Emirate of Damascus is in between, and I'm not a christian. It is COMPLETELY impossible for me to ask the ruler of permission for going across his lands or even just ignoring the ruler and going across. It seems that Paradox didn't plan for this. If you're going to take away the ability for non-christians to move across other's lands without asking, at LEAST add an option to ask for military access. If you're surrounded by blobs as a non-christian, it's almost impossible to conquer anything, meaning that you're most probably doomed.

Well yea, I know that, but that basically means that Paradox is trying to make it so that only christians exists.

It is a limitation of the AI and the engine. It is not something that will be changed, but I am sure that if CK2 is made, then you will be able to play non-christians without feeling limited, as the AI will be vastly superior and the engine able to handle that.

I know method that you can pass through christian land , the only way to do it is to have artmoney http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=392510 and editing a 2 papal event(9131 or 9134)

To pass the christian land you must change your ruler religion press pause first Switch (alt-tab) to ArtMoney , for more explication check the link that a give you how to do it. if you dont want the event 9131 or 9134 being trigged change the 36 month to 300. When your ruler religion switched to a christian
pick province you want to go. Switch (alt-tab) to ArtMoney again and switch to pagan/moslem return your game and depause ,wait until you almost reach the province(province one by one) press pause switch to Christian depause wait until your army enter the province, pause switch to moslem and there you go.

It does seem like the Muslims are just there to sit back and get conquered. Like a big land grab for the Catholics. That's not fun, and its not realistic. I want to seem some Muslim conquest of Italy and France :D

... which of course was very realistic ;)

The muslims have free reign within neutral territory of same-religion realms, just like the christians have. The do NOT however have access across neutral christian territory when at war with a christian nation. This was done in one of the beta-patches as people were complaining about the Sheikdom of Praha problem reappearing.

So the only real limitation of the muslims and pagans, is that if they want to attack Praha, they have to declare war on every nation between them and Praha.

I have had games where the muslims take half of ireland or holdings in the Baltics, which are definitely unrealistic, since they did not have Atlantic going boats at that time.

Back when Muslims could travel everywhere, we'd have lovely states like the Sheikdom of Praha and the Emirate of Denmark.

I'm glad we don't anymore, because that was very stupid.

You can still have the Emirate of Denmark or Sheikdom of Satakunta in Finland, as they are all accessable from sea :) ... unless you implement Jordarkelf's fix, that makes sure that muslim boats are not allowed in the Atlantic.

Yeah I put that in too.

Thank God.

Turn off crusades then!

I did this, and muslims last longer. Without the piety penalty during the crusades, the AI catholics will not bother attacking the big muslim states...

Wait? So you are playing a non Christian Dynasty, which means you must be breaking the rules of the games to begin with, then you complain that Paradox did not code the rules of the game to work in favour of a player playing an AI only nation....?
Sorry what is the problem again?

When the rules of the game are intolerant, I don't see why I shouldn't break them.

Tell that to the Byzantines or the Spanish at the 1066 start

The Byzantines always commit suicide in the first few minutes of my games. They'll hang on until the end with handful of provinces. I've seen the Muslims get 1-3 provinces in Asia Minor, but they don't seem too interested.

Well, alright. Maybe the game's model is pretty realistic in these regards.. But why be realistic there when its not unusual to see Germany conquer all of France and Iberia? There's plenty of room for the Muslim states in Africa to support their brothers in Iberia, or dive over into Italy. I want some randomness!

Not intolerant. Muslims are out of scope of this game.

The thing is, if you'd just ask nicely for advice how to get around this (and Faquirbleu did give you some), it would have been no problem. Instead, you complain that the game doesn't support you doing something which wasn't originally intended in the first place, and frankly, that's just silly.
