Just a small sub-mod for CK2 Plus, inspired by the Infinity mini-mod (though I did my own version of this). We decided not to add it into the main mod, as the purpose of CK2 is to manage your dynasty -- but I thought some people might want it as an option, so here it is.
NOTE: This only works with CK2 patch 2.41 or higher.
What does it do?
When it's active, if the player dies without an heir of their own dynasty, they will continue play as the heir with their dynasty. That heir will assume the player's dyansty for one day, and then revert to their previous one.
Does it affect anything else?
Not that I've seen. I've not tested it to see if there are any quirks, but it's pretty straightforward.
How do I use it?
Grab the .zip file and unzip it into your mod folder (the same one where you put CK2Plus). Make sure both it and CK2Plus are checked. It uses the new folder system, so it will always be compatible. You can also load it and unload it later (ie. play CK2Plus again with the sub-mod unchecked) with no adverse effects.
Can I use it for other mods?
Sure. Just open up the CK2_NDH.mod file (the one that looks like a movie file) with a text editor, and change the dependencies entry to whatever the text name is for the other mod. Or you can just remove that line altogether if you want to use it without any other mods at all.
Enjoy!
