I Jamie and everybody than can have the same mistake than me.

Thank for your new version (the mapmaker goes correctly) I noticed and I fix my error.

When you put "maximun number of provinces=2608" I thought (Because at least in my languaje, maximun means that I can put 2608 but not 2609)
That I can use Id 2608, when you can only put 2607 id's

Thaksreally for the help, if the new version had not appeared, i would have never fix my problem

I hope I'll never have more mistakes but I am not sure 100% xD

Changing topic, I think it woulb be great that in tutorial there'll appear something about rivers. I don't try it yet but I am not very sure about doing well. Apart of that, I hae not found yet the place where you can change adjacent to insert a river connection.

Thanks!

I want to share some of my observations. I have moved a sea province and turned it into a land province. However, I can't change the name of the area/region for that particular province. I changed areas/regions for multiple land provinces, but when I try to change the area/region of the former sea provinces, the game freezes upon loading.

Could it be that former sea province area/region names can't be changed? I tried to turn a land province into a sea province and I couldn't change the region name also... So are the sea provinces hardcoded to be sea provinces or am I doing something wrong?

I need to ask for help - I stumbled upon a problem in editing the borders.png picture. I didn't have this problem in my earlier attempts at modifying the map, so I must have forgotten something along the way. This is what bugs me:

d) Use the pencil tool to paint red line around your black strips.

I did this, here's how it looks:

e) Copy the whole picture into a GIMP picture without transparent background.

f) Use the colourpicker-tool (shift + O) to select everything that are NOT red nor white, and delete it in order to make it white.

This is probably the part in which I'm doing something wrong, because after doing the next part,

g) Copy the whole picture above your old “map_468_90.borders.png”-file, and use the eyedropper tool to get blue colour that you should paint inside the red lines.

when I paste the picture above the old one, the result is the following:

I don't know why does the black color appear only in those places where I deleted all greyish tones in GIMP. It's like it 'overrides' the white paint in the original file. Probably it has something to do with transferring the picture from paint to GIMP in part e), could someone clarify what exactly do I have to do? Open a new GIMP picture without a transparent background (what should the background then be?), or, set the picture to nontransparent background in paint and open a transparent background picture in GIMP? The text there is a bit misleading. I tried playing with all options but nothing helps.

Any ideas?

Ehh, thanks for this good lecture~. I succeeded making my own map~! ^.^

However, there is slight problem. Although I also modified the location of airfield or others, still Units move old way. For example, I moved Erfurt to the east (default Erfurt annexed to Goettingen and pushed Erfurt to the near of Leipzig-Dresden).
But soviet tanks or infantry corps moved to the old Erfurt location, that is now Goettingen.

Is it known issue or has remedy? All other things clear and alright.

You have to fix land connections. ;)

Did you change the name in province names and province.csv?

As well as changing the connections, of course.

Ah, well...

I can't really know until I try it myself. Those lines look great, in my opinion, much better than the whatever HoI2 currently uses. :)

@Zokan - You seems to have done very correct this far, what you need to do is use the colorpick tool to delete the grey colour AND the white one so that EVERYTHING that is not your border, including the white stuff.

The black appears because paint are not able to make transparent in the same way as GIMP, which means you will have to paste it above a picture in GIMP OR tell paint the black colour should be "transparent" ;)

Thanks for your answer~~~! :D Please look at this.

Blue arrow point the soviet corps that should be in Erfurt.
Red arrow point also the soviets that should be in Leipzig.
If I did not modify the map, they are in right place. However I did modify Erfurt, Leipzig and they are wrong place. Unit of Blue arrow formally settle in Erfurt but they are in Goettingen. Unit of Red arrow formally settle in Leipzig but they are in modified Erfurt.(that is former place of Leipzig) :eek:o

Could it repair by fixing land connection?

Thanks, I got it to work now :)

At last, It corrected~!!! All land forces now moving, positioning correctly~! :p
First, I modified 'Counter' position through Jammie's objecteditor.exe. Then I used editor.exe in HoI2 folder; In there, Army/Navy position is exist under 'Icon coordinate' head. I copied Counter's position number into the Army/Navy Position box. For example, #84 Erfurt's amry/navy position is now 15707/2547(it is same as counter position number!) and perfectly work~~~!
Thanks for all help~.

Well, you can modify all positions on your map, without making a new one via the objecteditor. :)

The map looks good, kudos to you! :D

Interesting two lines in the changelog...

-When 8bpp indexed is required, will also accept 24bppRGB, 32bppRGB, and 32bppARGB. The alpha values are ignored. Using RGB or ARGB is slower since the conversion to grayscale requires some multiplications.
-When 24bbp rgb is required, will also accept 32bbpRGB and 32bbpARGB. The alpha values are ignored.

I'm making a brand new map.

But I have a problem, I can't save my png in 24bit, with Photoshop.

Can you help me?

Just copy it over an existing map file and then save it. It will have the correct colour information.

If you just copy your modded colorscale.png and then paste it on the original colorscale.png, you can then save and the modded colroscale.png is usable without having to change the bit-settings.
