Norman Husband+Greek Wife=Ethiopian Son?

Not sure if this is a bug or if I am missing something here, but I am in my second generation as the leader of Capua, and my leader is a Norman who is married to a Byzantine Princess who is Greek. They have had about 5 children between the two of them (the ruler has 2 with his mistress as well mistress is Norman) and two of the sons are Ethiopian. Not sure what to make of this.

But yes to reply to Swuboo it turns out they were mentored by an Ethiopian in my court, I never knew that was the case and apologize.
