What's so great about Sligo?

Sligo (NW Ireland) is apparently very popular. William the Conqueror takes it (Ireland Count of Sligo AAR ended early - William took it) he took it from me.

More importantly, in my Naples 1337 game in August-Spetember 1353 Sligo was claimed by thirty-one people in about a month and a half. No indication that the old count died. Just a stream of Sligo spam.

One or the other of these would be just odd, but is it possible that Sligo was mis-coded to look like a province that people would actually want? Is there some rich province whose name begins with "SLI"?

the only claim that shows as an icon for my king of croatia is sligo

Many KI players lay a claim on a province, if the ruler is excommunicated, because grabing then only costs about 30 Prestige instead of 300.

Was the Count of Sligo excommunicated?

it was that way in EUII as well....:D

Sligo is very popular in my games also...playing as King of Scotland practically all my vassals had a claim on Sligo...hmm...because of their famous horses?..
