What's so great about Sligo?
Sligo (NW Ireland) is apparently very popular. William the Conqueror takes it (Ireland Count of Sligo AAR ended early - William took it) he took it from me.
More importantly, in my Naples 1337 game in August-Spetember 1353 Sligo was claimed by thirty-one people in about a month and a half. No indication that the old count died. Just a stream of Sligo spam.
One or the other of these would be just odd, but is it possible that Sligo was mis-coded to look like a province that people would actually want? Is there some rich province whose name begins with "SLI"?
