He ruled fro 866 to 928 - that's 62 years - not 4. but perhaps the calculation account only for the last title he seized?

I think its more about how many years you played as the character rather than their total rule in absolute time
Errr... I played 62 in game years as this character - and not 4 RL years as him.
Oh! I think I know. I constantly switch characters to help the AI along - but I'm always paused when I do so. Pause - Switch - Act as another - Switch and back to my regular character.
If you switch between characters, then its likely the game is functionally tracking the 'last time you switched' as its not likely to be tracking all the various times you switched.
